Very beautiful place, room is spacious with hotspring bath in the bathroom, staff is friendly as well. There are 2 big open-air private hotspring baths and a foot-bath on the rooftop, there is a free-flow of beer distributor at the lobby. The ryokan is just right opposite the old town, and within a kilometer walk to restaurants in the main street, it's very convenient, we love it!

Oniyama Hotel features a hot spring bath and a 24-hour front desk with free luggage storage service. Beppu Station is 16 minutes by car from Oniyama Hotel.

Everything!! This was my second trip to Beppu after 8 years and I've decided to stay in Kannawa and it was the best choice ever. I'd say that the highlight of this hotel was the staff. They were just incredibly friendly and lovely. Everyone was smiling genuinely and was just super nice and helpful. The location was absolutely perfect too, right next to the main hells and 5min from the bus station (I took a taxi though coz of heavy luggage). Taxi ride to the station was pretty cheap anyway and I'd recommend it to the bus ( only about $7). Room was very spacious and had nice view over the mountains and I got to watch a sunset too!! They also have 3 private onsens which is bonus but the public one are really good and I love it. Thank you so much for the lovely stay! Oh and there was this lady that was looking after the floor and she was super cute and lovely too!

The location in Beppu can’t be beat, you can see the hotel when you get off the train which was such a relief with all our luggage. Our room was spacious and comfortable. All the staff were super friendly and the ladies at breakfast were warm and welcoming. Lovely hospitality! Loved the amenities especially the free face masks, a nice treat!

Everything was brilliant. Only please expect to pay an Onsen fee regardless of use. The stadff were exceptional esp Hashan ,Ami, Chamut, and Navid.

The breakfast tasted so delicious, Mr Taro from the front desk suggested it and very resonable prize. During our stay my niece was poorly, she had a fever and the night staff 2 japanese men rang the hospital for us. He even type the hospital location to my sister’s car because she struggled with reading kanji. They were all very helpful to us,they lend their thermometer even put a translator for my husband inorder to understand him. I have had a problem connecting with my sister to pick us up from the Umi Jigoku and Mr Taro was talking to us in English and all the staffs were all very helpful. Mr Taro even left the desk to ask our my niece was. Please give him an award or praise please. Many thanks to all the cleaners the onsen lady for private family bath.

Stayed for two nights. Our room had two outdoor onsens which was well maintained and clean. Room is a little dated but still clean. As we had a half board package, daily breakfast and dinner were included. Food was superb with a hearty Japanese breakfast and dinner was shabu shabu on the first night and bbq on the second. Service was top notched. We had a nice Nepalese lady looking after us. We had a private room for all our meals and were very well looked after. Lastly, the staff took our photo and printed it out for us for keepsake upon check out. Nice gesture. I had an extra photo taken with the owner's little brown poodle Hazel. :)
