John is a gem. He bent over backwards to ensure we had everything we needed. He was great at steering us in the right direction to meet our needs at the moment. Breakfast room was well stocked. Our room was smallish but had everything we needed to be comfortable.

    The seafood was excellent that we purchased from the fisheries. Fresh off the boat. Hervey Bay is very humid this time of year. I was there for my brothers funeral. So I will not be staying at Mantra agin. I will choose somewhere much quieter.

    Hervey Bay is the best place in the world to see Humpback...

    Hervey Bay is the best place in the world to see Humpback Whales whether for the juvenials that are people curious (known as August whales) or the Mothers and Calves which arrive from early September through to the end of October. My focus is only on the whales but there are various trips to K'Gari (formerly Fraser Island) either by organised bus tours, self drive or by boat to the West side where kyaking and beach tours plus whale watching in season is available.     Nice little place for a relaxing few days, people and dog friendly. Great walking paths along the beaches and surrounding areas. Not a big shopping area but enough to get by for a couple of days. There are other bigger shopping centres only minutes drive away.

    I travelled to Hervey Bay for the Whale Watching and wasn't...

    I travelled to Hervey Bay for the Whale Watching and wasn't disappointed. I took three tours on three different boats and saw whales on all three outings, some very close to the boat. We also saw sea turtles, dolphins and sea birds. The weather was perfect, with mainly sunny days and light winds during my stay. Access from Brisbane was easy and the roads were good and well maintained. There are plenty of good food options and cafes opened early (5:30am near where I was staying) so you can grab a hearty breakfast early and head off for the day to maximise your time in the area. Recommended.

    Very happy with everything.

    Very happy with everything. The shower would inspire any upcoming musicians, some notes reach D7 or higher, including overtones, depending on your tap settings. Would suit families with children. Surprisingly quiet at night, despite being surrounded by many houses.

    Whale watching full day with morning tea and lunch included. Simply amazing whales. Staff enthusiasm excellent. Took a trip to Maryborough what a gem. Mary Poppins and the street market were great also lots of history. Lovely town

    We had a great time.

    We had a great time. The beaches were not the best ones but good to go with the whole family and spend the day. They have nice playgrounds to take the kids. We went from Dec 26th to 30th and the town was not full. You could find parking very easily. We tried The Fraser Coast Artisan Pasta Bar and Migaloos Seafood Market and really liked their food!
