Diletta house offers accommodations in Catania, 1.2 miles from Lido Arcobaleno and 4 miles from Piazza del Duomo, Catania. Great location. Close to airport and buses going to pretty much all towns in Sicily. Really clean and aesthetic, even more so considering Sicilian standards. Friendly host. Funny location (it's a little home next to a home of an actual Italian family). Rather clean, calm and safe neighbourhood (compared to the rest of Catania). Dilleta itself was also spacious, modern, had bedroom, bathroom and big living room mixed with kitchen. There was also no cockroaches, bedbugs and other insects (unlike in other accomodations in Catania). Really - it's all you need for a few days trip. Definitely worth the price too. Oh and the bed - holy crap. I've never slept in a more comfortable bed. There's also high quality AC in bedroom.

Airport Tourist's House offers accommodations in Catania, 1.2 miles from Lido Arcobaleno and 3.9 miles from Piazza del Duomo, Catania. The location is only a 15-minute walk from the airport, which was very convenient for us, as our flight was leaving at 6:30 in the morning, so we didn't have to pay for a taxi and could sleep a little longer. The room and shared bathroom were very clean. There is a pizzeria called The Simpsons nearby, where you can grab a bite to eat before going to bed, and there is also a panini shop. If you have a car, there is a free parking in the street.

B&B temptation airport fontanarossa shared house with several rooms is located in Catania, just 1.1 miles from Lido Arcobaleno and 3.9 miles from Piazza del Duomo, Catania. We stayed here after our late-night arrival in Catania, and it was a great decision. The location is perfect — just a 10-minute walk from the airport. It took us a moment to find the entrance, but check-in was easy thanks to their online system. The interior had a unique and interesting design, definitely not your average B&B. The room was clean, the bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom was spacious and fully equipped. We really appreciated the small touches — there was food waiting for us for a late dinner or early breakfast, and a coffee machine to start the morning right. Communication with the host was great — she was helpful and kind throughout. Overall, it’s a great stop for travelers flying in or out of Catania

Le Dune Sicily Hotel is only 1.2 mi away from the city center of Catania. It lies in an enchanting place between the golden sand of "de La Plaia" beach and a beautiful small Maritime pine forest. This was our third stay in Sicily.
We were in Catania for 2.5 days. it was a great base for doing excursions. The city was interesting and fun to walk around. The restaurant Nuova Trattoria Del Forestiero (near the Teatro Bellini) was exceptional, friendly and very good prices for dinner. The Comis Cafe was great for gelato and granita. The fish market and main duomo square were interesting and full of action.
Had amazing time in Catania, fantastic food and great wine. If you planning to travel it is super easy as bus connects you to lots of cities and villages around Catania. We didn't experience delays, the buses where clean and comfortable. Almost every restaurant we went food was fantastic but have to highlight tiramisu in Spaghetti and Co. We also visited food and clothes market it was great fun. Catania will surprise in very positive way i would definitely go back.
We were disappointed in Catania TBH. The city is lively and active - except for the weird shopping hours (we couldn't work out why some shops close at lunch, many still close on Sundays and others stay open very late). We were horrified at the bags of rubbish left lying around the streets for days on end - with more piling up each day. Dog faeces were also left over the pavements and even St Agatha confetti is still all over the back streets - 7 months after the festival! It needs a good clean up!! Also many of the museums have only Italian explanations - they don't cater for multi-lingual differences of visitors.
Amazing architecture and historical places. But the city looks a little declined. Food was not good as expected. Too crowded. The city is not pedestrian friendly. Too many cars, driving is crasy causing noice and air pollution.
A pretty city, lots of tourist sites within walking distance of each other. Great for walks in the evening, seeing them all lit up. Convenient for Mount Etna and an easy drive to Taormina, also Syracuse and Ortigia. Has an international airport so could be a great base for touring around the area.
Catania is a great base for all surrounding travels! People are very friendly and almost are places are safe. Spent the extra money on the accommodations......hard to find places that don't have bed bugs or other issues!!!!
