Apart from the Leaning Tower and the other wonderful places...
Apart from the Leaning Tower and the other wonderful places in the Piazza dei Miracoli there are many other places of interest to visit and see. Being flat it is very easy to walk around the city without needing access to transport. From the central railway station it is easy to make day trips to places like Lucca and Florence. Because it is a university city there are lots of young people around so the city is very lively.Guest review byCharlesUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Valentina was a great host.
Valentina was a great host. She welcomed us and showed everything we know. She offered pushbikes for us to use which was a nice surprise. At our check out, she gave us lift to bus stop which was so helpful cz its about 15mins walk and our bags was heavy and was too hot to walk. She may needed to go in town anyway but she waited for us which was kind. Definitely recommend this place to stay if you want to be a little out of town.Guest review byMa Christine LorraineUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Lots to see in the main square.
Lots to see in the main square. As well as the Leaning Tower, there is the Baptistry, Cathedral and the possibility to walk the length of the old city wall. There are also some interesting museums etc. It's very nice to walk along beside the River Arno.Guest review bySimonUnited Kingdom - 10.0
I liked Pisa more than I was expecting.
I liked Pisa more than I was expecting. It is a very old city with a nice atmosphere and lots of history. The area around the tower is very pretty and well maintained. There are lots of restaurants in the local area and plenty of more choice of cuisine in the rest of the city, if you are prepared to seek them out. The area around the tower is very crowded at all hours of the day, but then that's what everyone comes to see and take photos of. Pisa is an easy city to walk around and the streets seemed safe, even late at night. The city is very easy to get to from the airport, the PISMOVER monorail into the city is fast and relatively well priced. The tower is then about a 20 minute walk from the station through a very attractive cityscape. We also visited Lucca, about 30 minutes by train from Pisa Central Station. We can recommend it for a daytrip from Pisa. Another beautiful and historic city.Guest review byZonderbeeUnited Kingdom
