Boasting a terrace with lake views, an indoor pool and a garden, The Retreat can be found in Taupo, close to Great Lake Convention Centre and 35 km from Orakei Korako Cave and Thermal Park. Guests staying at this aparthotel have access to a balcony. The aparthotel features rooms with air conditioning, free private parking and free WiFi. It was a little difficult to find even with the map I brought with me. Should have spent one fewer day in Rotorua, and a second day in Taupo.

It is a 2-minute walk from the town centre and guests have a 5 minute walk to the Lost Spring geothermal pools. Additionally, the property offers discounts at select local restaurants and activities.

Each apartment has a kitchenette. Some have a fully equipped kitchen. The friendly staff recommended us where to have a great breakfast. It was wonderful.

Guests have access to a private marina and a swimming pool with hot tub. Free WiFi is included. Beautiful room with sensational aspect overlooking pier. Bloke on reception (owner) was terrific with respect to giving advice on things to do around the area and beyond. Property was first rate. Pity we weren't there longer!

Most units have a fully equipped kitchen fitted with a dishwasher, oven, microwave, toaster and kitchen utensils. There are free satellite channels, free WiFi and free parking. Some units have a balcony with lake views. The whole house and room was sparkling clean. The hosts were lovely and breakfast very generous. They provided overnight laundry service although I arrived late. The host gave useful guidance on sightseeing possibilities. Would highly recommend.

Each air-conditioned unit has a kitchenette with a microwave and stovetop. The seating area has a flat-screen TV. Thank you for a lovely stay, we were really pleased with the facilities and appreciated the additional features such as the milk in the fridge. Comfortable and a great view!

The location is perfect with The Lost Springs directly behind a couple of minutes walk. Shops and restaurants very close by to walk. Perfect spot to see the sunrise even from bed.
