This homestay was beautifully designed and made us feel like we were living in the jungle with all the plants. Our hosts were extremely friendly and had breakfast with us everyday. They told us all about local spots and Indian culture. It was a little out of the city which was great, giving us peaceful and quiet evenings listening to the sounds of nature.

The location is simply unbeatable—right on the beach, perched on a hill with breathtaking sea views. Falling asleep to the sound of the waves was pure magic. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always ready to assist without being intrusive. They even carried my luggage up the stairs by hand! Their hospitality made my stay even more special. Right next door is Lobster, the best restaurant around, serving delicious food at very affordable prices. There’s also a peaceful beach nearby, perfect for a quiet and relaxing escape. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Kovalam!

The hotel has a fantastic location overlooking the beach, it has a very calm tranquil atmosphere. All of the staff go out of their way to make sure guests have everything they need. I would especially mention Viji on reception who made my stay very enjoyable, she helped book taxis and trips and made sure we knew about all the daily events the hotel had available, so we didn’t miss anything. The Ayurveda massage is also something not to miss.

This was my third time staying at Somatheeram, and again they managed to amaze with their kindness and thoughtfulness. Everything was perfect,the reception at the airport, despite our late night arrival, they allowed us to check in and go straight to our bungalow. As a result, the first treatment was scheduled in the afternoon so we could rest. The employees, from reception, service to the restaurant, doctors and therapists as well as the cleaning staff were always smiling and cared to meet our every need. After this two weeks of Ayurveda treatments I feel reborn! I can very gladly recommend this facility especially to people searching peace and wellbeing for body and soul.

For those who like silence and privacy - just the best hotel in it's price category. What is special? Tbe hotel has 5 floors with only 3 rooms on each floor around the spacy hall with refrigerator. Very rare you meet the neighborous, so you feel like home. The rooms are big, the ceilings are high and the balconies are spacy. We do not use AC so it was important for us. The beds are comfy, the linen is new. Whatever you need - administration is ready to help you. Exchange rate was rbe best in Kovalam. We booked 3 days and stayed for 2 weeks...will be happy to come again!

Everything! Staff were lovely as soon as we arrived. Our room wasn’t ready so we were upgraded to a sea view room for the first night. We were dreading moving to our other room then but it turned out to be even better. It was tucked away on a quiet street behind the promenade. Literally a 2 minute walk from the front door to the beach and all the restaurants. It was spotless! Our bathroom was brand new and we had hot water in the shower (which is a luxury in India) The ends we’re so comfortable but pillows were a bit hard. It felt like having an apartment, there was so much room. We had a lovely balcony with a fan. Indoors we had air con and a fan, plus toiletries. We just loved the staff here. They were so hard working and always smiling when we seen them (especially Kumar) Couldn’t fault it. If we were returning tomorrow we’d stay in the exact same place.
