Nice hostel, well placed in front of the sea. People at the desk are nice and check in was pretty easy. Burger restaurant downstairs and 7eleven were pretty useful

It's quite far from town but that was why I picked it. There are some restaurants and cafes close by and a convenience store that's just about walkable. There are some good hiking routes nearby and it's really peaceful at night. An old lady was so happy to see me at the bus stop one morning that she gave me money to buy a treat.

Booked a dorm but the host was generous enough to give me a private room. When I extended my stay, I had to move to a shared room. Had good sleep in both rooms because beds are clean and even have curtains for privacy (in the dorm) Entire place has a homey vibe with pantry/kitchen and cute nooks / small lounge area. Host also took care of my laundry at a reasonable fee.

Soon was an amazing host. He really helped me have an amazing time in Gangnueng. This property is so close to the traditional market which is brimming with good smells and things to try. Probably the nicest I’ve seen in Korea. You can also get a bus quite easily to the lake and beach areas. You can even get a coach to and from Serokasan mountain if you leave early enough! It’s a clean, quite place where you can make a nice breakfast or relax after a day seeing Gangnueng.

1.7 km from Sunpo Beach, Eungabi Pension is a recently renovated property located in Gangneung and provides air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi and private parking.

The property was clean, a short walk to the beach and very close to several convenience stores. The property was also very beautifully decorated outside with flowers and fairy lights. It was clear that the owners took pride in the property and they themselves were very friendly — they offered us free drinks and food and were generally very kind when giving advice regarding taxis and getting to the beach.
