There were lots of large trees on the property to provide important shade as well as a large natural stand of trees across the street. The bird life was prolific here which is so nice to see. The room was clean and beautiful with a well appointed kitchen allowing us to cook anything. The cupboards even had Tupperware containers to put leftovers in after eating. I liked the salt water pool instead of chlorine. Amanda and Peter were such helpful and gracious hosts. They did numerous bookings for us and provided information on excursions that we would not have known ourselves eg which ones are best, the weather forecast, eg. I would highly recommend the outrigger as a place to stay. The snorkeling on the outer reef is absolutely magical - you have to try it!

My room was lovely - clean, modern, spacious with gorgeous interiors and really comfortable bed. Sonya and Robin were always on hand to help me out and answer questions, they were great hosts! Pool Port Douglas is a short 6 minute drive to Macrossan Street (4kms), and a 10 minute walk to the famous Four Mile Beach. It provides guests with the perfect base to explore the nearby Great Barrier Reef and Daintree Rainforest. We had a wonderful stay in a 2-bedroom swim-out apartment, which was perfect for our family. The space was thoughtfully designed with plenty of storage, and the beds were super comfortable. It’s a little further out of town, but we appreciated the quiet, peaceful surroundings. The staff were warm, helpful, and made us feel right at home. A real highlight was the excellent café just a short walk away, serving delicious breakfast and lunch with beautiful river views—we went every day. We also loved relaxing on our patio each afternoon and stepping straight into the pool.
