The guesthouse provided an exeptional experience with its helpful staff and enjoyable amenities. The owners gave us some nice recommendations.The bathrooms as well as the room was/were very clean. Excellent location, Well maintained. After a hectic day out this property is a perfect place to unwind. I would also recommend people who are interested in the aurora borealis this place offers the perfect location, You have to just stand in your backyard when there are clear skies you get lucky to spot them. The kitchen was well equipped, A common dining and living area with plenty of board games and not to forget the wonderful acoustic guitar. Overall I highly recommend this place if you are looking for accommodation around Gullfoss falls.

We had such a wonderful stay at the Old School House. Honestly, part of me wants to gatekeep this place – but of course I won’t. As a half-Icelandic person, this has definitely become one of my new favorite spots to stay in the countryside. We loved the garden, which was open for everyone to use. We actually ended up staying in for both dinner and breakfast, even though we had plans to go out and eat at restaurants. But the garden was just too cozy – we couldn’t resist. We also really enjoyed the hot tub and had an amazing evening watching the sunset. The kitchen and bedrooms were super clean and comfortable. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone traveling to Iceland. Magnea and Greg were so lovely and welcoming. You can really feel that they care and want you to have the best stay possible. 10/10, would recommend!:))

Form the first booking to the last checkout, every reply has been quick and useful. Even when I had to adjust the booking due to flights, the hotel made it very easy for me. The hotel is clean and well kept. I did not expect the great view of the mountains from our window. You cannot mention this hotel without mentioning the amazing breakfast. Always greeted with a smile and warm bread. The interior and the funky tunes are spot on! There is no better way to begin your day. I really wish they could clone this hotel, because I would like to have this wherever I travel.

This guest house is set on a family-owned, working farm with animals. Central Selfoss in southern Iceland is 7 km away. WiFi, sauna and outdoor hot tub access are free.

Where to start? The staff and the owners are super friendly, there is a hot tub and a sauna for everybody, breakfast was really good (fresh made waffles!!!), the beds were so comfy and the guesthouse is the perfect spot for day tours all over the region - it feels like staying for some days! We were allowed to feed their animals and got lots of good suggestions what to do. Check in was the easiest I have ever seen. Go there!

Our holiday was incredibly enjoyable, especially thanks to our stay in this lovely and quaint house (the bed were so soft and comfortable), and the breakfast that was offered by our host was delicious The host Helgi was very kind and hospitable and we spent two interstellar evenings just chatting in the bar. iIf we’ll ever go back to Selfoss, we’ll definitely know where to stay!

Considering the location and the price, the place exceeded our expectations. This is a house on a farm on the Golden Circle. It was calm during the night, fully equipped kitchen, very clean. I can only recommend the place. Some people might consider some parts of the building older/vintage but to our taste, it added something special to our experience :-)
