Our private room at this hostel like guesthouse was spacious and comfortable. The common/lounge area was also nice and tidy, with the highlight being the 3 private onsens that are free to use for all guests. There is also a big kitchen which you can use, but we didn't as we ordered dinner which was bento boxes from the guesthouse. The bento box dinner was better than we expected, and you can take as much rice from the kitchen as you need.

I was 5 km far from the guesthouse while I booked it on Booking, I just finished the mountain part of Kumano Kodo Kohechi at 18:00. The owner contacted me on Booking immediately, and told me she can drive to where I am (a restaurant) to pick me to Guesthouse Yui, so warm!

To say we were well looked after, would be a massive understatement. Mandy-san is a very special person and her kindness has deeply touched us. Besides having the luck to enjoy her many skills as the wonderful host she is, my girlfriend also had an acupuncture session with her. Mandy-san was both incredibly gentle and precise, almost as if she had a sixth sense. Our stay at SOLA guesthouse in one word? Magical! :)

Everything outstanding. Hitomi san and Hikaru San made me feel home, the house is just so beautiful in deep japanese style, and the cooking so tasty an original. Probably one of the best stay in Kumano Kodo.

Amazing place to stay if you are doing the Kumano Kodo trail. Clean, simple, has everything you need and the staff is lovely! very Japanese style and cool place full of music instruments. Great hostel! Located right along the Kumano Kodo, with great access to hiking. Stayed in the mixed dorm and was very impressed with the size and comfort of the beds. Lots of privacy for a hostel. Everything was clean. Kitchen well equipped. Private onsen access was great as well. Loved our stay here!

Great location, big room, and private hotel onsens were just what we needed after a big day hiking. Good facilities like shared laundry and kitchen. The staff messaged before our arrival to offer a bento dinner which they arranged.
