What a gem of a hotel! Right on the lake at the bus station and boat launch, so it was super easy to get anywhere. We had a Japanese style room, which was something new for us, but a fun experience. Our room faced Mt. Fuji, and we woke the second day to a beautiful view! The owner was extremely friendly, spoke English well, and helped us plan our days so we maximized our time with the weather. He and his wife also ran the little restaraunt and served up delicious food for breakfast and dinner (which was great as most places close early in the evening). If I were going to be back in the area, I would definitely stay here again!

In the Shuzenji Onsen district of Izu, close to Shuzen-ji Temple, Hostel Knot has a shared lounge and a washing machine.

Everything was perfect: the convenient location, the cozy room, super comfortable duvet, friendly staff…… they even put a hair curler in your capsule 🥹 ! Definitely recommend and will come back if I come to Shuzenji again !

Fantastic stay in a small hotel. The view onto the bay was absolutely stunning. We loved the Tempur futon, one of the best we slept on during all our travels to Japan. The room was very specious and clean. Bathroom was a standard Japanese bathroom, with all the necessary amenities. We came by car and really appreciated the parking space in front of the building.

It feels incredibly authentic. For anyone staying here, I'd just say trust the process, the host is the sweetest little old man who hosts really fun karaoke evenings. It wasn't what we expected going into it but this place gave us some great laughs and memories for life.

Such a unique place. Enjoyed finally having some comfy couches to relax in! Very well fitted out with absolutely everything you could need. Centrally located to all the sights. This would be a great place for a group of people as there is so much seating and even two kitchens. Highly recommend.

The staff is absolutely amazing. They are super sweet and help you with all your needs. The three menu options are all super delicious and at an incredible price. The bed is super comfortable and the room is quite spacious. In the first night I slept 10 hours and I didn’t even heard a sound. For sure I will return if I’m ever at Hakone again.
