It's lovely home, clean and tidy, location perfect, walking 5minutes to hot springs, 7 minutes driving to city center, beds very comfortable, shower aweome and georgeous views in a golf course. Ken is very friendly and gives lots of good suggestions. Excellent experience in living here.

Cosy country stay was exactly that . Cosy, beautifully decorated, clean & very tranquill Food in the fridge, including homemade bread & New Zealand jam. Just what a weary traveller needed. So good we booked to visit again on a return trip

Absolutely amazing. Cozy, warm, clean, spacious, luminous, lovely owner. One of the best place I've stayed. This was my base camp to explore Hobbiton, Waitomo caves and Roturoa. If I come back I would redo exactly the same!

The location is amazing, 10 minutes out from Matamata surrounded by beautiful mountain and farmland scenery. Brenda was very welcoming and friendly. Her cat even more so! The bed was to die for and it was lovely to relax in the hot tub in the evening. My daughter loved the garden with the play equipment and little Hobbit hole. Great location to go to Hobbiton and Tauranga.

Our stay at Hills Vista Lodge was perfect! We were looking for somewhere to stay after the evening banquet tour of Hobbiton and this was a standout. Ideally located and at a great price. The place was spotlessly clean and very comfortably accommodated the 4 of us, but would easily do the same for 8. Very friendly hosts (including Ludo!) with a well stocked fridge and cupboards for the morning! Having read other reviews I only wish I'd mentioned 2 of us were vegan as it seems we would have got something special too! The only downside was not meeting Princess Anastasia until right before leaving hahaha!

Fantastic hosts, nothing was too much trouble. The house is like traveling back in time but with all the mod cons. Awesome views to match. Enjoyed sitting around the fire 🔥 drinking red wine 🍷
