One of the highlights of our visit to Japan. Beautiful property with a lovely courtyard/garden. Quiet street relative to the main touristy stretch, though close and easy to find. The best part was the owner/host, a wonderful and kind person. He made our stay very comfortable, gave restaurant recommendations, and provided a delicious breakfast. He also showed genuine interest in us and where we were from; our interactions were cheerful.

The owner is so kind and helpful. He helped us out so much and even drove us to the ferry. If you are ever in Onomichi don’t hesitate to book this place, the kindness and hospitality of the owner alone is enough to make the stay worthwhile.

Gamigami is located with a fantastic view across the inland sea with islands near and in the distance. It is a pity that cables are in this view as seen from the rooms but you can go up on the flat roof for an unobstructed view. It is not very far on a nearly flat road to the ferry to Onomichi so it makes a good last night if you are cycling from Imabari taking several days as we did. We had a comfort Japanese style room.

Staying here was a definite highlight of our trip! The guesthouse is absolutely beautiful - full of history and in the most incredible location right underneath Senko-ji temple. I would recommend staying AT LEAST 2 nights - 1 night is definitely not enough to soak it all in. Sitting in the cafe overlooking the city was an absolute dream. The cafe is open to the public but is also a space where guests can eat and drink their own food which felt really nice and cosy. The walls of the rooms are basically decorative so you really can hear all the other guests staying, but I was pleasantly surprised at how considerate all the other guests were of noise and everyone was so quiet after 9pm. I could not recommend this guesthouse highly enough!

I spent two nights here and everything was excellent. The owner was very kind and helpful. Also the traditional Japanese house was fantastic and shared spaces like the kitchen, shower room and toilet were very clean. This place surrounded by the small river, the garden and cute neighbor house. Check-in time also flexible if your room is ready. Even it's a bit far from the city but not complicate to go, just take the bus no.29. Before your arrival date, the owner will send you the message to guide you about the bus stop location to get on/off and it's very easy just follow his suggestion. This place is worth to come!!
