This was hands down one of the best places I’ve ever stayed. I was in complete awe the entire time — everything about it was just incredible. Imelda and the girls were so warm, welcoming, and genuinely kind, we were treated like family from the moment we arrived. The accommodation itself is absolutely beautiful, with stunning views and peaceful surroundings, plus the bonus of free-roaming animals which made it feel even more magical. The home-cooked meals were delicious every time, clearly made with love and care. They were also super helpful with local recommendations and sorted out things like scooter rentals for us with no fuss. The room was airy and spacious, and the bed was massive and insanely comfortable, we slept so well. The outdoor shower was also an amazing touch. We would come back to an impeccably clean room every day too!! Thank you so, so much to beautiful Imelda and the girls — we’ll never forget this experience. Can’t wait to come back one day xx

This place is heaven on earth. We felt like home. The staff are so nice, sweet and lovely. We have told them that it was the birthday of my friend and they made up a beautiful place with a wonderful table and they prepared a super Indonesian dinner. They were always available for us with their beautiful smile. We cannot describe how good we felt with them.We cried when we left. I really hope to come back next year and to find them...

Staying at The Rua Room in Umarato Villa was an experience straight out of a dream. Location was unbeatable. Right on the beach with first class views of the sunrise, sunset and horses buffalo and locals as they went about daily life. Absolutely stunning authentic experience set in luxurious design and stylish interiors. Exceptional welcome, the owners enjoying the surf everyday and inviting us to join made it all feel so wholesome and heartfelt. This place is more than a hotel, it’s someone’s love letter to the island of Sumba and the passion project is infectious. Didn’t want to leave this serene and magical place: thanks for having us !

We love Asia and spend every year a month or more in the region. We found Three Queens exceptional for three reasons: First the location on the amazing and basically empty Rua Beach in beautiful Sumba. Second our hosts Lidya and Brad together with their three daughters and extended family pampered us throughout our stay with food and advice. Third, the four villas in traditional Sumba style are not only very beautiful, but also furbished and decorated with style and every detail is thought through.

We had a wonderful stay — the staff were warm and welcoming, and the authentic food they prepared was the best we had. Surrounded by beautiful views and nature, everything was clean, well-kept, and enhanced by the locally made soaps and products that smelled incredible.
