Very beautiful, clean guesthouse that was renovated from an old japanese home. The owners are both very kind and went out of their way to make my stay as nice as possible. You can tell that they really care about this place! Aso station (startpoint for the tour bus) can be reached in around 20 mins with bus or train. At night it is quiet and even in the summer surprisingly cool. I highly recommend to stay here if you are visiting Aso!

We stayed for 2 nights at Hokkoma cottage and loved our stay. The property itself was wonderful, had everything we needed and felt like home. Our trip was focused on taking advantage of Aso's beautiful nature and the cottage's location allowed us to do this. It was also great to know that there was a large bath to use after the hike to soak our tired legs!

Location was brilliant one bus stop away from Aso Station - even in walking distance. And the host was fantastic giving out a lot of information. I liked that it felt rural and simple. Everything convenient but comfortable in a easy but not sophisticated way.

The host is very helpful and hospitable.He even drove us to the bus and train station. Loved the location. The host was very kind, with many kind gifts and attentions for the guests. We loved the discounted tickets for the Onsen closeby and all the advices on what to do on a rainy day on Aso. Everything is very clean. Futon beds were quite comfortable.

Great location (3 minutes walking from the train & bus station), convenient for luggages before/after check in / check out. The rooms are really confortables, bathroom very clean, kitchen well equipped.. I really recommend this place + the staff is really kind 😍
