We spent two nights at JML Villa Foresta with the family and honestly, it was the best stay we’ve ever had. From the moment I booked, the owner was in touch and super helpful. Even though he lives abroad, he made sure everything was taken care of and that we were happy. You don’t often see that level of communication and care. Getting to the villa is an adventure in itself. It sits right on top of a mountain, and the hotel provides both the off-road vehicle and the skilled driver you’ll need to get there. Once you’re at the top, the views are absolutely jaw-dropping and the weather shifts constantly, so the scenery feels alive and always changing. The villa is just beautiful. A mix of stone and wood that feels both rustic and luxurious. Everything was clean, cozy, and comfortable. Outside there’s a pool with an incredible view, and inside you’ve got a pool table, big flat-screen TV, and a sound system you can crank up without worrying about disturbing anyone, since the villa sits on its own massive 25+ acre estate. Total privacy. RSpecial thanks to Ravi, the host, who looked after us with such professionalism and warmth. He made sure we were comfortable at every moment. And the food? Honestly next level. The owner had told me they serve more than what you pay for, but I didn’t realize just how true that was until we sat down. Every meal was generous, beautifully presented, and delicious. The dishes just kept coming until we couldn’t eat another bite. If you’re after breathtaking views, complete privacy, amazing food, and a team that genuinely cares about your experience, this is the place. We loved every minute and would come back in a heartbeat.

Incredibly friendly people, great food, nice room in a beautiful rural setting. Sunil is a retired Sinharaja park guide who even took me to a nearby place to find a rare owl. So nice!!

Beautiful position in the national park

Everything was excellent from the very beginning of our arrival. We were warmly welcomed with refreshing tea. Dinner and breakfast were outstanding—everything was incredibly delicious. The hosts were very friendly, and we felt right at home. Umesha is an amazing hostess. Thank you so much for the magical tea that helped me recover faster. The best memories of this place. It is in a perfect location, friendliness and hospitality of the staff. Delecious food provided for the day. We had Pradeep, a great tour guide organised by the hotel.

Very beautiful place to stay for seeing the rainforest. Vini is an excellent guide and spots all kind of animals when you go with him in the park or in the village area. He also helped us with transport and other arrangements. His wife cooks the best rice and curry in Sri Lanka! The food comes always in very big portions and that for a very reasonable price. For dessert you can eat the very delicious curd with honey from the palm tree, which Vini climbs every day. The location at the river is fantastic. As a wildlife enthusiast there is always something to see in the garden. But very surprisingly there are no mosquitoes at all. The rooms were very clean and had a lot of space. From the terrace we had a nice view on the river. All in all we had a wonderful stay!

Our stay at Sinharaja Forest Lodge was truly relaxing. The lodge is surrounded by lush tea plantations and beautiful greenery, making it a perfect escape into nature. The room was comfortable and clean, with everything we needed. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the breakfast was delicious. We especially loved the morning views and peaceful atmosphere. Where to start? Hemal is such a such a kind guy and the best host you can imagine. It’s a new hotel so I was happy to be the first client. The hotel is at the entrance of the park and besides the great and spacious rooms as well as great food made by his wife, Hemal is an awesome forst guide that spots animals from a distance away! I did both the night tour seeing loris, scorpions, deer and snakes etc. (be silent while he’s spotting) as well as day tour with a.o. endangered monkeys and a beautiful waterfall. Also, from the terraces you can spot a lot of peacocks and other birds in the front of the stay. He also helped me arrange a taxi a good price back. 200% worth the visit!

Plus, being only 100 meters from the Pitadeniya Entrance makes exploring the rainforest easy. From the moment we arrived, the staff’s warm hospitality made us feel right at home. The villa itself is cozy and designed for comfort, creating a stress-free and relaxing. A guided tour arranged by the villa took us deep into the rainforest, where we learned fascinating stories and insights about this breathtaking ecosystem. It was truly unforgettable. The food was another highlight; fresh, delicious, and full of local flavors. The villa is also exceptionally clean, and with no fixed check-in or check-out times, our stay felt flexible and stress-free. What makes this place truly special is its location. Surrounded by a tea estate, facing the rainforest, and right by the river, every view is stunning. Staying here felt like stepping into a dream.
