Our spacious and comfortable rooms are nicely furnished with all modern facilities and Spa. Everyone was really nice and helpful! I spontaneously decided to arrive one day later, which was no problem for them, Christeen changed the dates with no additional charge. Christeen also made sure that my stay was perfect, every single day and they gave me water bottles everyday which was really important to me! Breakfast was really good, they have enough vegetarian options in case you‘re wondering The room was nice and so was the pool

We had such an amazing stay at JJ’s. We originally booked for three days but ended up extending for another three because we loved it so much. JJ and his family/staff are all very kind and friendly — they made us feel so at home in their beautiful slice of the world. Elephantine Island is very relaxed and has a lovely local feel (a very nice change from Aswan city and the rest of Egypt!). That said, you’re only a two-minute ferry from the mainland which was super easy and we went in most nights for dinner. We booked a tour to Abu Simbel through JJ which saved us from having to think about logistics of getting there ourselves 🙌🏼 we ended up being the first group there for the day so got some amazing photos and we’re back in the guesthouse by 1pm. Also the included breakfast was incredibly generous. Everyday we had fresh juice, eggs, bread, salad, cheese, fruit salad, jam & honey. Honestly amazing value and cooked with love. Plus the view from the rooftop (where breakfast is served) is beautiful, looking over the Nile. Our room also had an amazing view of the river. Honestly I can’t rave enough about this place. We feel so happy to have stumbled upon JJ Guesthouse and are leaving with some very special memories ✨🩷

The view from our window was lovely. The bed, sheets, and room were clean. The food felt like home, even though the flavors were new. Sharif was very helpful and went above and beyond to ensure an enjoyable experience. We loved our stay.

It is very clean and comfortable, new furniture and fresh finishes. Large enough room and a separate common space with a sofa. The beds are comfortable and the bathroom is also good. The hosts are very nice and customer-oriented people. The rooftop is very nice for breakfast and just spending time with a cup of coffee. The location is good, 5 minutes from the pier. If you want a break from the Egyptian noise, I definitely recommend you to stay on Elephantine Island in this gesthouse.

The hotel itself is very charming in an interesting location, heart of Nubian village, river front. The room was comfy and very clean, exactly like in the photos. We felt very relaxed and welcomed. The room was silent good sound isolation, we’ve stayed at the last room of the hotel corridor. The restaurant was excellent, big portions, great fresh local products, exquisite cuisine. It was the best kebab we had in Egypt. It has also beautiful views to the River. First, we came from Cairo with some stomach illness and the manager of the hotel Samir and all hotel staff did everything to make us felt better, he even went to a drugstore and bought us medicine and gave us as a gift. Thank you very Samir and Hamo, restaurant manager, your sympathy and attention made all the difference. Hamo also offered us local tea for all discomfort every day and it has helped a lot. Samir booked some transfers for us, they were all good and responsible drivers. Last, we had to leave the hotel early morning for a trip and they prepared us a breakfast box, with good variety and quality products, even boiled eggs. I don’t understand why other guests complain about it. Bottom line, I loved it and totally recommend.

The hotel was just as expected—designed in a Nubian style. The rooms were distinctive, beautiful, clean, and safe. The staff were lovely and took great care of us, especially Ali, who coordinated everything and recommended various tourist spots. We were most impressed by him. Ali became like a friend and younger brother to me. We truly felt happy with the warm welcome from the owner and his daughter. Everything, including the ride and the sunset trip to Abu Simbel Temple, was wonderful. They were very kind and friendly—this place felt like a second home to us. The food was delicious, especially the omelet, which reminded us of home after being away for over seven days. Highly recommended—everything was truly excellent and won’t disappoint.
