The amenities were just perfect, especially the pool area, which quickly became our go-to spot for relaxation and unwinding. And let’s talk about the atmosphere—quiet, serene, and surrounded by lush greenery, providing the perfect escape. It’s rare to find a place that checks every box, but Shanty Surf Camp Hotel did exactly that and more. If you’re looking for a destination that offers peace, beauty, and everything you could possibly want in a getaway, this is it. We can’t recommend it highly enough!

I knew this place would be next to the mangroves, but I did NOT expect the mangroves to be right next to the open-air common area outside our room! And there's a short 1-2 minute walkway through the mangroves, leading to the river where you can go kayaking and even waterbiking (though there's only one bike). What a beautiful experience to sleep to the sounds of nature and wake up to the birds chirping. I also saw some strange possum/lemur-like animal climbing through the trees while I was having breakfast!

From the exquisite salt-water pool to the open, immaculate kitchen. This place is extraordinary from top to bottom. My mom and I came here for vacation and we had the time of our lives. The rooms were super clean and the staff were extremely friendly. This booking is a prime location & it’s just a short walk away from the beach. 10/10 would recommend to stay here.

The accommodation provides a shared kitchen and a housekeeping service for guests. We booked the 2 persons suite at Manglare. We had a spacious room and a beautiful bathroom, which was open and gave a really tropical experience. There was a shared kitchen outside that you can use if you’re staying in Manglare, also a possibility to put your food/drinks in the fridge. The location is very calm and like a 5 min walk to the beach. El paredon is quite busy and there are some parties, but in Manglare it’s very calm. We liked it. Extra thing is that it is close to the mangroves, where you can rent some kayaks for example. At the end of our stay, we forgot some stuff that was still drying outside. We took contact with Manglare and they immediately were very helpful: they searched for a way to sent us our belongings by express delivery to our next hotel in Flores. Thanks for this service. Highly recommend it!

The food was delicious. The staff helped to decorate the room for a birthday occasion and the picnic basket for the beach was wonderful. Definitely will come back again. We had the Atitlan room, and it has a small balcony facing the pool.
