United StatesI will absolutely stay here again on a return trip. It is in one of the best neighborhoods in Florence, which is located outside of the main tourist area and right inside the Porta Romano. Attached is a photo of the Porta Romana and city wall from the round-about ~3 minutes from the lodgings. The lodgings are inside this walled part of Florence.
Host Ulrika is outstanding. She checked in by text to see if we needed anything before and during our stay, and was very responsive when I had questions. She made several recommendations in an email before we arrived--a local cafe for coffee and breakfast, where to pick up some groceries, where to find tasty pastries and premade sandwiches, and several restaurant tips. Her restaurant suggestions were much better than the ones we happened to find on our own. Our favorite was La Casalinga, which opens at 7pm and has a changing daily menu. Go early as it gets packed!
She also reviewed some of the highlights or must-do activities, and explained different transportation options (although we walked most everywhere). She helped call us a taxi for the return trip to the airport. (Note - the Florence airport only has one runway and is fairly small, and has a large volume of travelers cycling through. We may choose to fly into Rome or Pisa on our next Florence trip).
Attached is a photo of our view from the bedroom, looking towards city wall attached to the Porta Romana. It shows the roof-top terrace of the property. We stayed in a two bedroom/one bathroom flat with a balcony (there are different flat options at the property).
