Located amongst the rocky hills of Gondwana Nature Park, Gondwana Canyon Village offers accommodation within 55 km of Klein Karas.

Each of the stone-and-thatch rooms at Canyon Village are air-conditioned and have beds draped with mosquito nets. They have an en suite bathroom with a shower. The walk up the mountain behind it at dawn was memorable and the scenery stunning. The breakfast was very good with little birds flying around us! The staff was very friendly and helpful, especially Ndina, whom we nagged with quite a few requests.

Rooms at Alte Kalkoefen come with a fan and floor-to-ceiling windows, with an extra outside shower. Each has a private bathroom with a free-standing tub. Light linens and wooden furniture are part of the décor. Alte Kalkofen has to be one of the best places we have stayed in Namibia. The lodge was just so well designed down to the smallest detail. Re-use of materials makes it such a unique place. The food too was excellent. The Lithops greenhouse is definitely worth a visit. Exceeded all expectations. 100% recommended.

Very interesting historical place (old railway station converted to hotel). Nice location- not too far from quiver tree forest. Good for sleepover before continuing to Luderitz or Fish river canyon. There is a fireplace in the dining area, so it was nice and warm. Very nice dinner and breakfest.
