A clean, cozzy, safe city worthwhile visiting as well as the other parts of Armenia. Without exception, they all smile if you thank them in their local language (as it's very hard to remember :-)). People are indifferent and not at all friendly or helpful. Nobody ever returns a smile. We are Muslims and had absolutely next to no halal food options. Found one good Indian restaurant called India Palace selling halal certified food but it was expensive and they sell alcohol. The tour operators are not genuine. They charge people differently and most of our tour was a waste of time and money. All in all our family trip was not that exciting. Armenian is my homeland although I wasn’t born there. It pains me that I came to visit after many years and I was robbed by a taxi driver. Charged me 13 times more than he should have. 65 US dollars. However since then it has been going well and I had no problems. The restaurants are great and the people are very helpful when questions asked. The weather is great and will be doing trips to various parts of Armenian. I hope the rest of my two weeks will be pleasant.Guest review byAnonymous - 10

I thought Yerevan was a nice city- kind people, great food options, some scenic areas. It's a great launching point to take day trips to other cultural offerings like monasteries, national parks, and other smaller towns and villages to explore. I found using Yandex to get around longer distances was easy but you can walk to most places without a need for taxis.
