The building is well planned and built, and very clean. The staff is polite and helpful, though not everybody is fluent with English. There are great hiking areas nearby, with churches and birds, and the climate is much cooler in the summer than Yerevan and its surroundings. And not too many tourists - a great place for summer holiday. The city is very actively polishing itself. This may become a major attraction in 10 years. Go now before the masses find it!

It was an amazing welcome! We came from Yerevan late in the evening, but it was not a problem. We had a tasty dinner and a great Armenian breakfast. We were treated with their homemade jams in the morning, so we couldn’t help buying their raspberry jam before leaving. Moreover, the host family helped us to go look at the stars in the observatory located not far away - we were not planning this at all and it was a great spontaneous adventure we are still grateful for.
