A very old historic building of the 14thC. Neat and spacious common areas, good sized bedrooms; down feather amenities; logo slippers, gowns, and ten out of ten heating; very clean spa. Linen change as you wished and towels daily. Breakfast: it was above and beyond with fresh produce and a full basket of local dishes, Austrian hams and cheeses, scrambled eggs, fluffy viennese croissants, vegan & vegetarian diets, breads, desserts etc and a large assortment of juices, teas & coffees. Lunch and dinner: it was a pleasant experience too. The service of the staff: was excellent with very polite staff available to assist you in any in-house enquiries to suggestions for outdoor experiences. Location: location was value for money! Hotel in a small village, next to a large market center, a 14min drive to Salzburg Old Town and a 45min drive to the closest ski resort. We would definitely return to this gasthouse.

Location was great for visiting both Salzburg and Halstatt, rooms were better than in the photos, very spacious and with comfortable beds, spa was fantastic in terms of all the facilities available (3 saunas, hamam, indoor and outdoor pool) PLUS open until 10 pm which is a huge convenience and given the size of the hotel it was never crowded and the staff was super friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was pretty great as well and lots of nice touches like complimentary mulled wine and cookies at the entrance of the hotel. I'd love to go back!

Super location! Only one minute walk from central square of cathedral. Unlike the expectation for the old hotel in Europe, all equipments are new and functional including sufficient hot water from shower and bath tab even on the top floor. Small roof balcony from spiral staircases is charming for coffee break and breakfast. Finally Ulrike at reception takes care all for visitors kindly and cheerfully, Super!!!

    A beautiful, rural area ten minutes by car from Old Town Salzburg. The 180 degree view from the Gasthof Maria Plain hotel terrace, and from the balcony of room #20 which we had, captures sweeping pastoral greenery in the foreground, behind which is the city of Salzburg with the iconic fortress on the berg, back-dropped by the soaring Austrian Alps.     Such a beautiful hotel in the village 15 mins bus ride to/from Salzburg. Spar supermarket 7 minute walk away for hot & cold food. Great area for exploring also. Staff were fantastic! I had a mountain view which was amazing (back of the hotel view) Never had the breakfast on my 3 night stay here, so can't comment on that. Overall I loved it

    Nice small hotel in Austrian village, with excellent breakfast, car parking ,clean room but a bit old facilities. However, excellent destination by bus to the center of Salzburg. The bus station is near the hotel and it takes 10-15 minutes to get to the center. The 24 hours tickets is possible to buy at reception. Absolutely recommended.

    The room was more than I expected, lovely view of Salzburg from the hill that Maria Plain sits on. Roomy and well kitted out. Property is well maintained and sufficient parking outside the hotel. Breakfast was adequate and plenty of choices.

    Very good value for money. Free parking in front of the hotel and hotel is only15 minutes drive from city center. If you chose public transport, bus stop is just in front of the hotel. Very convenient.
