Lovely family-run place, simple, but atmospheric and cosy. There is a restaurant with local food attached. Bus stops are close by. The owners are very friendly and will go out of their way to help. Breakfast is good and comes with real coffee.

If I were smarter, I would not share this Little Gem". This is one terrific Gasthof in one lovely village. One hundred meters 'off the beaten path' lies this early hotel. A smart traveller would keep this Jewel hidden! The owner and his lovely wife could not have made our stay any better. Our room was well appointed, and quiet. Immediately upon arriving, hotel staff carried our bags to our room, checked us in, gave us Visitor Cards providing free access to cablecars, museums, historic building, and the fabulous Burg Maunterndorf Castle, five minutes on foot. Parking was available directly outside our hotel. The breakfast buffet was one of the best we found in our five weeks in Austria and Germany, and our eggs were cooked to order. Dinner was in a cosy dining room, with an excellent menu. Service was prompt, and attentive. We dined several evening, enjoying the relaxed atmosphere and wonderful local specialties. The desserts were even better! Hotel Steffner-Wallner is one place we will return to.

Perfect hotel for ski weekend with the family! We love that we can ski at Obertauern and then stay at the quieter and cuter town of Mauterndorf at Hotel Binggl. The husband and wife who run the hotel are so lovely and sweet! The breakfast is amazing (the jams are particularly delicious)!! Rooms are cozy and have everything you need. And don't forget to visit the attached bakery -- we always buy the Linzeraugen cookies as a post-ski treat. We started coming here 10 years ago when we lived in Austria for a couple years and now we are back and bring our kids!

Very, very clean. High tech apartment with everything included. The design is great, everything wooden made is absolutely beautiful & the paintings are a plus. Great location, the village of Mauterndorf is very picturesque and very close to Obertauern, but not so noisy. It is close to the main road of the village but this is not the main road between Obertauern and Mauterndorf, so there is little traffic and it is not noisy. Conveniently placed 5 min walk from Adeg, 10min walk from the castle and in the vicinity of many little restaurants. The floor heating is a plus and makes it even cosier. Thank you for everything!

What a perfect place to stay for a ski weekend in Lungau. The location couldn't be better - 100 m walk to/from the first ski bus stop to Obertauern (it's great to be the first ones on the crowded bus- you get a seat!), in a quiet lovely town away from the craziness under the ski lifts. Close by are bakeries, coffee and cake shops, a grocery, and guesthouses with a great Austrian meal. Our hosts were communicative and kind. There's a ski room for all your ski stuff too, and enough storage space in the apartment that even 4 people don't have to leave their things all over the floor to trip on. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
