This is our second visit here.
This is our second visit here. We like the location very much. The nearby cable car takes you in six minutes to an altitude of 2000 meters and the start of some amazing walks across meadows with 360 degrees views and up hill to a reservoir, a small lake and the top of the Golzentipp mountain. We went at the beginning of July and in all my travels throughout Austria I have never seen so many startlingly blue gentian and alpine roses. There was a myriad of activities enroute to keep children very happily entertained and a superb restaurant/cafe at the start. A gem of a day. We like to travel down the Villgratental which is near Sillian and where very old chalet houses abound and then travel to the Unterstalleralm cafe where there are stunning views from the balcony and lovely alpine food. The toilet seat lids are amusing too. There is a small toll to get to the parking space at the top and several walks from there. We love to walk up to Oberstalleralm village but also the waterfall which you can see from the car park opposite the Unterstalleralm cafe.Guest review byMalcolm WUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Obertilliach is a great mountain town with beautiful buildings, farm buildings blended in with residential buildings. Beautiful views, nice walks. The cable car is well worth the time, just make sure that you have half a day for it - We went up late in the day and only had about an hour at the top since the last cable car was at 4:00 pm. Of course cross country skiing in the winter is amazing with trails all over the valley and the nearby cross country/biathlon center.Guest review byTheodoreCanada

On the first night they even brought us freshly baked apfelstrudel. The apartment was very cozy and clean, and it hatda small balcony with a beautiful view over the valley. Obertilliach is within driving distance of Cortina D'Ampezzo, but we really enjoyed just staying in this valley and exploring the mountains around it.
