The room was magnificent. 3 min walk from my room to the central resort square. No problem walking to tours or being collected to go to the airport.

The room and facilities were really good. I enjoyed the extra free activities like painting and the edible plant seminar and the astrological seminar. Lovely place I would stay again.

Having visited Ayers Rock 40 years ago the entire handling of mass tourism has dramatically altered today's experience. This area is no longer affordable/accessible for the average Joe - a meal for four at the main restaurant is over $250! Tours are run by a large organization and cost $$$ Because of the excessive heat, you are really limited to early morning or late afternoon outdoor excursions and a trip to Kings Canyon (which is a real must) is also expensive and requires at least a day or two.

Uluru and the Red Centre have to be seen to be believed.

Uluru and the Red Centre have to be seen to be believed. Yulara resort is extremely well set up to help visitors make the most of their time. We had a car but there are plenty of other options for getting around. A variety of venues available for food and beverages.

It is a unique and special location ..and a truly beautiful one. It was our first experience of the red centre and I was struck by the beauty of the landscape particularly in the soft light of dawn and sunset and the stillness …and a big night sky I hadn’t ever experienced before. There really is a Milky Way !!

Great place to experience, to see Uluru and walk around it and learn about its importance to the traditional owners. Went out to the Olga’s and saw the sunrise over Uluru, it was spectacular. Enjoyed some great walks. Fabulous tour guide, very knowleable.it is worth getting a tour guide rather than doing it yourself.

A trip of a lifetime!

A trip of a lifetime! We especially enjoyed the BBQ dinner and Star Gazing excursion out at Uluru! I've never seen so many stars! The Milky Way and two other galaxies all with the naked eye! I'm so glad we made the trip.

We had perfect weather had just rained so left us with some lovely green scenery. Weather was perfect. A little hassle with flies so need a net for face. Need a rental car to get around to see all sites. Just the experience of being there was magical. Day and night with the night sky as something unreal.

The swimming pool was a welcome friend each afternoon! The Lost Camel was only a minute's walk from the IGA, cafes and souvenir shops in the town centre and only about five minutes walk away from the Desert Sails Hotel where we connected with our tour busses. The room was delightful and the air conditioner was a huge help. There was room on the suitcase rack for two suitcases - not the case in many other places we stayed!

Stayed here for 1 night only so didn’t get a chance to explore the area string the hotel much but everything in the hotel was fine. Comfortable, clean & a haven from the flies outside! Also, it is very accessible since most tour buses/coaches do the Ayers Rock resort circuit for all Uluru tours. Staff are polite & attentive - the hotel has a restaurant and is close enough to walk to the small strip of souvenir shops.

We stayed in the 4 bed dorms as this was one of the cheapest options we could find in the Ayers Rock resort. It was fine - the dorms are basic but clean and the beds are comfortable. Didn’t spend much time in the room anyway! There’s a common room with comfy couches and lots of books & boardgames. The toilet and shower block was always clean. Good WiFi everywhere in the resort.

Very happy we stayed at the Desert Gardens. It’s the first bud pick up spot for all the hotels and isn’t as hectic and busy as Sails. Staff were great and rooms were fine. This hotel is also at the Ayers Rock end of the town and some rooms get that view.
