I have been visiting Bellingen since the 1970s and it has gone through many changes. We have family in the area. It became a trendy town and had a number of interesting shops and eating places. After 4 days in Sydney we were looking for some down time and Bellingen fit the bill. A funky small town with good restaurants, nice shops, good scenery locations within a 45 minute drive and even a nice 18 hole golf club with available club rentals, basic but adequate. It was bigger than I thought and had quite few eating venues. There were a couple of bookstores and several clothing stores in what looked liked heritage buildings. Salli made us feel most welcome and everything we could have wanted was supplied. We cooked on the barbecue on the deck in the evenings and the kitchen was well eqipped to do so. The cabin is a few minutes drive from the charming town of Bellingen for shopping and entertainment.
