Obviously we went t the Clare for the wineries and the Breweries. We were not disappointed. All the places we visited were excellent. Easy access to wineries. Loved the ambience of Shut The Gate winery. Great meal in the Seven Hills pub. Art and crafts stores/galleries were not open. The Arts collective was supposed to be opened at 10am, we arrived on time, waited 8 minutes and no one came to open up - very disappointing! Would not visit Pikes winery again. We were not permitted to purchase a glass of wine and sit by the fire to drink it. We were the only people in the place at the time. There is so much to see and do in the Clare Valley.
There is so much to see and do in the Clare Valley. The wineries, historical sites such as Sevenhill, Mintaro, Polish Hill River. Restaurants, hotels and bakeries are first class and cater for all budgets. Fresh eggs and home made jams and chutneys from the CWA, well priced curios and vintage clothes from Felicity's and great food options including excellent Indian from Indii Clare. The best parts of Clare is the countryside and the wineries. there is not a great deal to see in the main street except for the old buildings and the history that are the main highlights of Clare. The Bentleys hotel in the main street served up great meals.Guest review byAnonymous
