We spent the wknd in Gympie to ride the Mary Valley Rattler train with our train loving grandsons, they loved their return train experience travelling thru Gympie to Amamoor. NO bus service on the weekends in Gympie!!
NO bus service on the weekends in Gympie!! I arrived on the train from Brisbane and ended up walking. I was able to get taxis but way more expensive than buses. The North Gympie train station is out of town and, because of the weekend, and no bus service, I had to take a $30 taxi from Gympie Muster to get there.Guest review byguilbertUnited States - 10.0

We have visited this area previously, It is a lovely region and there is plenty to see. This trip was planned to take the Steam train trip with friends which we did and really enjoyed. Was a great day in June 24., A trip to this area is well worthwhile for a few days to see what it has to offer. We visited the information center and the staff there were exceptionally helpful, so visit if you need advice on where to go and what to see in the area.
