Loved our stay here. Lady at reception was friendly and courteous. Rooms were spotlessly clean - well done to the cleaners. Lovely cafe next door.

The setting is beautiful.

The setting is beautiful. I would suggest bringing your own plates and cutlery as there were none available in the room. Just a fridge with some long life milk, a kettle and some cups with some tea and coffee. There is no microwave. Very comfy bed and very cozy room. Be warned there is absolutely no internet wifi and I could only get cell coverage for my phone down by the lake. But it is lovely and peaceful.

I would suggest a day trip there and not an overnight stay.

I would suggest a day trip there and not an overnight stay. We felt it was a little too remote with limited things to do after a few walks. The "Wall" (just outside Lake St. Claire), was amazing and I highly recommend people to visit. The accommodation was costly for what it was and the lodge was very disorganised.

Beautiful glacial lake surrounded by mountains in the middle of a large National Park. Undeveloped and intended for serious hikers. There are many walking and trekking paths short and long. The Overland hike is a 6 day walking adventure. The roads to and from are mountainous and winding.

The location is a natural gem- beautiful lake scenery and wonderful walks around this National Park. And then central meeting point at the lodge where walkers can gather. Tips: come ready to look serious as a Walker (back pack and gear) as the majority of visitors here have the Walker look/gear. Bring the appropriate clothing for warm and cold conditions. Heaps to take in- however a very peaceful - timeout location to stay.

The staff in the restaurant were difficult to communicate with and the meal options were very limited. There was no phone or WIFI reception on the cabin. I believe they should of been due to the price charged.

*The location is brilliant. Being able to wander down to the lake from our cabin was wonderful. The accommodation was very comfortable and clean. *Although we were a bit nervous after reading the Google reviews before arriving, we had a lovely time. It is expensive and the food isn't great, but it was worth it to stay in such a spectacular place. *Close to the Hungry Wombat cafe, great for lunch, and also the Derwent Bridge Wilderness Hotel where we had dinner.

Fantastic location in the national park on the shore of Lake St Clair. Cabins were well equipped and the heater was on when I arrived late in the afternoon which was great. Staff were terrific. Really appreciated the hot breakfast (which was included) after a morning walk in the park in the snow. Was amazing and so beautiful. Will definitely be back.
