Having been to and really loving Hobart, my daughter and I decided to try the next biggest city in Tasmania, Launceston. It's not as vibrant and does not offer as many attractions as Hobart, but does boast the glorious Cataract Gorge and Tamar Wetlands. With a car, you can also visit landmarks including Cradle Mountain, the Trowunna Wildlife Sanctuary and Freycinet National Park. We also chanced upon the Truffle Farm Tasmania on our drive to the wildlife sanctuary and stopped for some truffle oil, mustard and cream!

Great town to visit - proximity to great landscapes such as Ben Lomond, Liffey Falls, Cradle Mountain and Strahan, nearby wine regions and of course Hobart, the south and west is just a couple of hours or so drive away. Beautiful town with its own great attractions - great place to chill and enjoy on foot, enjoy fantastic produce of all descriptions, and go to great restaurants both local and regional every day.

Launceston is a charming city with a relaxed vibe and beautiful surroundings. The historic architecture, scenic Tamar River, and nearby natural attractions like Cataract Gorge make it a perfect spot for both sightseeing and relaxation. Friendly locals and cozy cafes add to the welcoming atmosphere.

Beautiful City , Evening Restaurants all with easy walking distance and the crisp night air was refreshing - July in Tassie is not as cold as expected - its a good excuse to wear my winter woollies that did not get out much in northern NSW

Liked the location and large rooms.

Liked the location and large rooms. Water pressure fabulous. Didn't like that it is not sound proof. Was hard to sleep at night because you could hear room beside and noise from hallway Beds just okay

I loved Launceston and wished we had stayed longer. As we flew in and out of Launceston, we didn't consider staying longer. Everyone we met were incredibly friendly and helpful. The main part of the city is very easy to walk around. I ate at a lovely cafe for breakfast and the food and service were amazing. Coffee is also brilliant.

If you've got a family with 3 kids like us and you'd like to stay in the centre of Launceston, that's the place. Right next to the Boags Brewery, short walk into the centre of town and the city park, plenty of nice restaurants in walking distance. The place is a proper hotel, with all expected facilities. Appreciated the free parking right at the back of the property.

The hotel is situated in a very central part of Launceston, and within easy walking distance to local cafes and attractions. Car parking is provided for guests at $10 a day and is very handy at busy times. The onsite cafe/restaurant is very handy for snacks or meals throughout the day.

I liked the modern minimalist decor and the friendliness of the staff, especially Manjil (who worked in the dining room). The hotel also provided parking which was a bonus given that having a car in Launceston is very useful.

It was a very pretty hotel, walking distance to shops and to the gorge. If I ever go back to Launceston, I’ll definitely book this hotel room again.
