The property is as described and is close to the city centre. The view of the ocean from the property is great. The property was clean upon arrival and is very spacious for a group of five people. It is great that a tennis table is available for us to play too. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the property and it is value for money, as compared to the hotels. Lorne is a beautiful sea side stop with many facilities, like Restaurants from different corners of the world, Greek cuisine, Mexican, modern Australian, Vietnamese and others, surrounded by great beaches and excellent scenery all year round.

I love Lorne in all seasons.

I love Lorne in all seasons. The beach is great in warmer months and the forests are great all year round. Plenty of walks, lots of good cafes and restaurants, the newly renovated Grand Pacific Hotel is insane. It's a sleepy town in Winter, but I like that very much - it's so cosy, lots of places have fireplaces. I love Lorne.

The government bus service to get to Lorne and Apollo Bay...

The government bus service to get to Lorne and Apollo Bay from Geelong is very cheap and enabled both of us to relax and enjoy the beautiful coastal scenery for the hour long journey, instead of the stress if navigating a very windy road. Lorne is very quaint and well serviced. There are great foreshore walks to have and some level of fitness is required. If you prefer eating and coffee there are plenty of cafes and restaurants plus boutiques for shopping. Thoroughly recommended a visit.

Mantra Lorne has fantastic facilities for a holiday.

Mantra Lorne has fantastic facilities for a holiday. Fantastic greek restaurant named (IPSOS) opposite the Mantra Lorne. Great food and great service make sure you book especially on Friday and Saturday nights for dinner, awesome. Great walks around Lorne and a beachside atmosphere.

Lorne is a lovely surf town with a great beach and plenty of good cafes & restaurants. On reflection I would have stayed in Lorne and visited other near towns rather than upping sticks and checking-in to other hotels/motels.

The Lorne Hotel is quite old, but it’s been thoughtfully refurbished over the years. Our Family Room and the accommodation area were well fitted out with a laid-back, coastal feel — soft colours and stylish fixtures throughout. It’s directly opposite the Surf Club, so the location is very central. There’s limited guest parking at the rear of the building. The two rooms were spacious, with ample storage, tea and coffee facilities in one of the rooms, extra blankets, and both had split-system air conditioning — which was excellent.

We love the Mantra and come and stay every year in the lead up to Christmas. We were very disappointed to not be able to get a booking for more than 1 night so the drive to Lorne from Melbourne, checking in at 2pm (ended up 3pm), then check out at 10am gives no time to relax and settle in. The accommodation was unbeatable, the breakfast as always very good.

The location is beautiful, back off the beach a bit but elevated and nice views out the front. And lorne is a beautiful place. The house was obviously very upmarket in its day. TV's in every room, the couches are very comfortable and the place has everything you need like a home away from home.
