Mudgee is such a beautiful town. I loved the historic houses and buildings and the abundance of wineries, restaurants and cafes so close to the town that offer beautiful local produce. I didn’t like all the magpies that made our bike ride around the wineries a little challenging! Mudgee has everything you could want.
Mudgee has everything you could want. Boutique shopping, great accommodation and food options, three breweries (alongside the typical "pub on every corner" charm of a thriving country town), and the wineries are up there with some of the best I've visited. Went to the Three Tails Brewery, plenty of beers on tap, try the (alcoholic) ginger beer. The food here was amazing with huge portions. Also went to Lowe's vineyard, which was fabulous. I recommend the meal with pairing wines, its a bit expensive but the food and wines were fabulous as was the scenery. The main reason I chose this option is it had a private bathroom. The cabin was comparable in price to most of the Hotel rooms available in town, but they all had shared bathrooms. Our room was located on the ground level and was very comfortable. There is a restaurant in the building which is worth dining in.
