FAQs about hotels in Perth

Serene as the Swan

Sun-drenched and laidback, Perth is simply a joy to be in. However, the West Australian capital does have tourist attractions, such as the Colonial-era mint, important in the country’s gold industry. East is the WACA, a must-see for cricket fans, and the city is also mad for Aussie Rules football.

The city centre has the historic Government House and Supreme Court, both dwarfed by the ultra-modern skyscrapers a few streets behind. The best skyline view is from leafy King’s Park, near the War Memorial overlooking the Swan River below, named after its black swans. Across the river in Perth Zoo are more native animals including koalas, crocodiles and free-hopping kangaroos.

Boats to the zoo leave from the Barrack Street jetty by a sail-shaped bell tower. Other day trips from Perth include Rottnest Island and Fremantle, down the river in the opposite direction from Perth Airport.

The apartments, B&Bs and hotels in Perth are spread all over this fantastic city, interspersed with restaurants serving specialities such as western rock lobster and chilli mussels. There is also a wealth of bars, many playing the indie music that the city is known for. Local brews from the Swan Brewery and wines from the Swan Valley vineyards round off the evening.

Perth is really easy to walk around and see a lot. We parked the car and just walk all over the City. I love the London Court Arcade so authentic. There were a lot of eateries in and around the Malls.

We were recommended to stay at quest as we are here from an event for 4 days . On checking in staff were great . We went to our room and at first thought wow this is great, great view clean room . I then settled in on bed watching tv and realized I was being showered in black dust from the air con unit above the bed , we thought maybe it’s been cleaned recently and this just bit left over . It was happening on and off for a bit but on day two we decided to bring to attention of staff . They assured us it would be looked at that day while we were out . We returned home and it was worse . We again spoke to staff and were moved to another room . A “better “ room . We got to our new room and yes it was much bigger but far from better !!! We put our ice bricks in freezer and the freezer was on highest setting so our brick did not freeze , we had to buy ice for the day . The nice view I paid for is not a view of a building! The coffee table glass top is not secure and wobbles . Bathroom door doesn’t close properly. There no cutting board . My car was broken into in your very expensive car park I was told was secure .

Perth is such a lovely city to explore at your own pace — no tour guide needed! You can take your time discovering hidden gems and soaking in the calm atmosphere. Once you pass the serious-looking male immigration counter (don’t worry, he’s just doing his job!), you’ll find the locals are warm and super helpful. One of the most impressive moments was meeting an African staff member at the Perth station who spoke excellent Mandarin — if he could sing a bit of a Chinese song, that would have been perfect! If you’re ever unsure about something, just ask politely — people are happy to help. My stay at Spinners Hostel was excellent too — the staff were so helpful, loving, and friendly that it felt like a home away from home.

    Perth was an amazing place.

Perth was an amazing place. There was so much to do and people were so helpful. Rottnest Island is a must do. Getting around was very easy. I recommend if using taxis I would install the app didi on your phone it is much cheaper than Ubers. Our trip in the taxi from the airport was $80 and a didi back to the airport was only $23. We stayed in The Oaks Perth hotel right in the city 5 min walk from train station, malls and 15 minute walk to the waterfront. Coles and woolworths are are 2 to 5 minute walk. Will most definitely be return to Perth.

It rained for the majority of the time we were in Perth, but that did not bother us, we were able to visit the Banksy Exhibition and the Terracotta Warriors which both were viewing in Perth. The Mercure is also just a short walk to the Harbour and the free city CAT buses stop right outside. We also ate mostly at the Mercure restaurant which proved to be quite good...Overall a very pleasant stay...

Perth is an excellent place, with the right balance and fusion of old and new. The people of Perth are friendly and hospitable. It is easy to get around, the city is safe and clean. Rottnest Island is a must visit and its beaches are spectacular.

This establishment is just perfect. It was built when space was not an issue and when lay out of kitchen and furniture was set for the guests comfort. We have been in many modern places where rooms are as tiny as possible to prioritise profit; other rooms are spacious but with no furniture. This hotel has the best style, very comfy and there are lovely extras like free professional coffee machine at the lounge, free voucher to eat out and many discount vouchers. We loved this place and we will try to come back when we are in Perth.

The hotel has new owners since the last time I was there. Beautiful, impressive, and our balcony room was facing trees along Mounts Bay road. Next door to the hospital, a great advantage. I was in Perth for surgery, and when I go back again for the check up with the surgeon I intend to stay there again.
