We did the Hawkins Bay walk very steep need good fitness but the view was very rewarding once you reached the top. The Jetty is great both day and the lights are lovely at night time. Picnic Bay is the quieter end of Magnetic Island with a lovely beach lots of birdlife and well cared for Mall area filled with shaded seating areas , magnificent Fig trees and a hotel which serves good food with bright cheerful service. There are other options for meals and more to be found in the other bay areas and the local bus service will take to all the beauty spots on the Island. The house itself is spacious and very comfortable. The kitchen fully equipped. There's also a big pattio in the garden, where we could relax and eat in the shade. We loved waking up to the sound of birds. It's just a short walk to Picnic Bay beach, which has a stinger net. This is also where the bus stops, so it's easy to travel to Nelly Bay or other parts of the island. The owners are very lovely and helpful.Guest review byJuliaNetherlands
