The villa was exceptional. Jeff took us on a “Grapes to Glass” tour and lead us on the “Canapés” & wine experience. Both were very good as a starting point for 3 days in Hunter Valley. Lunch on the patio and dinner at the Gates were both exceptional.

This location is owned and operated by lovely people. A breakfast picnic basket arrives every morning at 8. Kangaroos frolic about. It is a wonderful place to recharge and restore. Tranquil and quiet. Beautiful landscaping nestled in a vineyard.

The personalised service from the moment we arrived, staff going above and beyond what would normally be expected. The room was large and beautiful, the food delicious and the setting idyllic. We felt like it was almost our own private resort.

My wife and myself booked 2 nights accommodation at the Mercure as it was very centralised to Bimbadgen Estate for the Take That concert we were attending. The rooms were the highest quality and staff were extremely friendly and helpful. During our stay we also did some wine tasting at DeBortoli's Hunter Valley, we went to the Hunter Valley Chocolate and Fudge factory, had dinner at Harrigans Pub and attended the Hunter Valley Gardens Christmas lights. The furthest we travelled from our location was only a 10 minute drive. It has beautiful manicured lawns and gardens and is the perfect location for a weekend getaway, corporate stay or to host an event

Great location, full house facilities and a nice stay.

Great location, full house facilities and a nice stay. The only downfall was that the store was out of order and was not advised prior to arrival which we needed for our grand children’s towels and clothes . Had we known we would have brought along extra items. The pool area great and accommodating.

Never a let down. Love the Saturday markets and chocolate factory. We only buy our honey from the markets from Locals plus many more goodies. The wineries are great we go to a different one every time we started with a once a year trip to the hunter valley we now visit 3 times a year and love each season differently..

Wineries visited: Latitude 32, Ridgeview, Keith Tulloch, Winmark. All very good, especially if you are a Chardonnay lover. Latitude 32 and Ridgeview are very friendly and relaxed and great for beginners. Keith Tulloch and Winmark have some seriously good (international standard) , up-market wines that will please the experienced wine lover. Lunched at: Harvest Restaurant at Ridgeview Winery. Great service, lovely view, good food and wine. Can personally recommend the risotto with lobster tail and my lamb-loving friend really enjoyed the lamb shoulder. As well as tasting some fabulous wines, we went for a good walk around the large sculpture garden at Winmark, which is a bit of a drive from Pokolbin, out at Broke. Well worth the lovely drive for something different, if you have a designated driver.

The area is absolutely fantastic due to all the wineries and other activities to do in the area. The wineries are absolutely fabulous as is the wine. Pokolbin is a very beautiful area with the scenery, animal and birdlife and I could have stayed for a week but I was with family and they only had the weekend due to work. We visited Amelia's on the Edge and Yellow Billy for dinner and lunch and they were both excellent restaurants that I would highly recommend. The food was amazing, well presented and a gastronomical adventure where the flavours were very exciting. The staff in every venue we visited were absolutely fantastic and all genuinely happy to be working in their respective roles. All were very hospitable and all were smiling and couldn't do enough to make our time at each venue a happy one. I was visiting from Perth and I will definitely be returning to Pokolbin as there is so much to do and see but more time is needed. After two days I felt refreshed and loved the peace and serenity along with the kangaroos and birdlife that was on our property. .

Loved the variety of things to do in Pokolbin. great selection of wineries nearby! Also, bike hire, shopping, the HV gardens, Cheese factory, Chocolate factory, motorbike/trike tours, etc., so there are also plenty of things to do if you aren't a drinker! Loved the beautiful landscapes and natural wildlife everywhere - kangaroos will frequently appear and stand, watching you while you take pictures. The best area to stay in the Hunter Valley, in my opinion.

The Pokolbin region is scenic in autumn.

The Pokolbin region is scenic in autumn. My favourite places were: MaCaffery's Estate wine and cheese tasting. It was very good value compared to some other well known wine tastings which provided only wines and charged $10 more for their wine tasting. Hunter Belle Cheeses are delicious. The Ben Ean patisserie bakes their own products on site (usually sold out just after lunch). The mixed fruit tart not only looked good, it was delicious. There's a lovely courtyard which overlooks the Lindeman vineyards and the staff are friendly. The Blaxland Inn restaurant and Cafe Enzo offer a good range of meals at $$-$$$ prices.

We usually stay here as we often head up to the Hunter Valley to attend an event at the Hunter Valley Gardens. This hotel is within walking distance (although we usually drive there). It has an amazing pool that my kids adore, as well as a play area and lots of space on the property where the wildlife will come up to your room. We had ducks last visit and kangaroos the one before that. The rooms themselves have all we need and are comfortable but they could probably do with a freshen up.

Harrigan's is well -situated within the Hunter Valley with many wineries situated around Pokolbin. Our two-bedroom room was comfortable with everything we needed for our stay. It was handy to have a restaurant with pub-meals on site.
