Very clean and well maintained house. Beautiful out looking and lovely interior decorations. Plus they provide BBQ grill! Kangaroos are in the garden early in the morning, very lovely. Birds come for their breakfast and not afraid of human. Koala trails are not far if you are driving. And such a wonderful place!

Arrival staff were friendly and helpful, the private spa barrels were wonderful, the room was beautifully furnished with no expense spared on floor finishes, linen, furniture, Japanese crockery. Ambiance from lighting and the planting outside was beautiful. Arrival chocolates and prosecco cans was a nice touch, and the breakfast hamper was lovely. Bed was super comfy, and the heat lamps in the shower, and heated towel rails were great!

Raymond Island in Gippsland is a peaceful escape famous for its wild koalas and scenic walking trails. The Koala Trail is a must-do, offering close-up encounters with native wildlife amid tranquil bushland. Take a short ferry from Paynesville and enjoy the relaxed coastal vibe and stunning lake views. For a bite, try the local cafés in Paynesville — Pier 70 and Waterview Bakery are great for fresh, local fare.

Aside from a coffee cart near the ferry terminal, I don't think RI has any other businesses, which means the only things to do are koala/kangaroo/bird spotting and relax (or water sports, if that's your thing). It's the perfect place to step away from city busyness and appreciate nature.

We enjoyed the beaches and the Koala walk! Just being on the property was amazing. The close proximity of the wildlife was just wonderful. The ferry was very well run and did not stop us from enjoying the town of Paynesville.

we parked on the island, took a free-for-pedestrians ferry to Paynesville and easily walked around to cafes and restaurants. Arturios is a terrific latin restaurant and 3880 has pizzas , pastas and parmas. The floating tin shed had a live performer singing. Great bonus. Kids everywhere on bikes in Paynesville and exploring Raymond Island. Really nice destinations for people who want a slower pace and want to relax and for families.

The island is flat so Ok for walking or cycling to view the wild life. Loads of Kangaroos, birds, koalas, echidnas etc. Access is via a car ferry $13 return for a car, free for people and cycles, and the queue can be long, waiting 20 minutes some times. The island has no shops, so need to bring your supplies or catch the ferry for loads of choices of cafe, restaurants and shops. However, the small town does not have extended shopping or cafe hours so check (eg Sunday morning cafes opened at 10 am). Mainly a boating and fishing district, no sandy beaches for swiming. Very quiet and peacful, not much traffic and it all goes slow. Watch for kangaroos on the roads including in the township at night. Bring insect repellant. Also check the ferry, it goes offline for maintenance for two weeks every year.
