Fantastic array of heritage homes within the town.
Fantastic array of heritage homes within the town. We had a lovely lunch at the Assar Cafe which we highly recommend. Dinner at the Golf Club & RSL, excellent. Visited relatives, so not much sightseeing. Called in at Lake Liddell, well worth a look or picnic/ BBQ lunch.

We visited Scone for the Horse Festival, to watch the horse parade and other activities at White Park over our 2 day stay.
We particularly enjoyed watching the international farrier competition & the American cutting horse demonstration.
A friendly quiet place to stay, with noisy traffic movement now redirected to the bypass. There are many other activities on offer during the above festival weeks, especially if you are into all things horsey. As well as other attractions in the area.
The RSL Club across from our accommodation has very good facilities with an excellent Chinese restaurant. The local Bowling Club with 2 bowling rinks, also offers very good meal facilities.

Scone is home to the restaurant called The Cottage which has the best venison you have ever tasted (worth the trip from the Hunter Valley). The surrounding countryside is just beautiful and the Town is quiet at night but you should still exercise caution.

Quiet country town close to Lake Glenbawn and surrounded by horse studs. Main Street was very quiet and a lot of roadworks happening (which may have contributed to the town being "dead" and not much open up the main street on a Saturday). No major retail shops at all in town either but it does have 2 supermarkets and several takeaway options including maccas, pizza and chinese.
The Belmore Hotel is however a lovely old pub for a meal and a drink in the beer garden (and the live music was a bonus).
Lake Glenbawn is a short drive from town and looks amazing but $15 day entry for a car so we only saw what was visible from the drive out.

We Loved the spacious bedrooms, well equipped/ stocked kitchen , the wood fire and it's proximity to our lunch location (The Cottage). We couldn't fault the hosts, it was the perfect property for all of us to get together
We were met on arrival and given a great tour of the property, and an idea of how to leave the property on departure - very useful.
Overall, clean, tidy, great location, off street parking, warm (stayed in winter), it was perfect. Will definitely look to stay next time we are in scone.

Scone is a horse-city, close to the railway. That was it for us. Along the mainstreet. and with a bar and the possibilty of playing pool in the evening, as there was not much entertainment elsewhere in the city. The beds in the room were great, and having a veranda outside our room, was magnificent both evening and morning!

Very modern hotel. Well equipped and very clean rooms. In room provision of bread for toast plus and cereal. RSL club opposite which was handy for an evening meal. Good hotel for business or leisure. 10 years since I have been to Scone but the town is now a lot more modern reflecting significant investment.

It was clean, peaceful, quiet, convenient and comfortable. They provided everything you could need for a comfortable hotel stay and the staff are very friendly. You can't hear traffic from the highway so it's a quiet night's sleep.
