Swansea is a small seaside town.
Swansea is a small seaside town. The interaction I had with the local people was very informative and pleasant. It is a very quiet town, excellent if you are looking for something very restful. We were there in late September with the weather still chilly. Walking in the area is great as I had experiences with an echidna, potoroo and blue tongue lizard. Retirement by the sea. Very few young people. Standout IGA & General Store. Indifferent (and rude) staff at one high profile take away!! BUT WAIT - the place you must go to is the iconic Melshell Oyster Shack at nearby Dolphin Sands. Not fancy buildings, just genuine people concentrating on the perfect oysters. Didn’t see much of Swansea.
Didn’t see much of Swansea. Booked the place for Freycinet national park. It is about 45 min from the national park but there were a few interesting seafood place along the way. It’s a quiet little town and IGA closes at 6pm. There is an EV charger in town. Very easy to travel round, ate at the RSL couple nights, both very busy, good choice of food, good prices. It was off season and a few eating places were closed. The cabins have everything you need with a great little kitchen, bathroom, living area and a comfy bed with an electric blanket for when it is cold. You can park your car next to your cabin.
