Swansea is a small seaside town.
Swansea is a small seaside town. The interaction I had with the local people was very informative and pleasant. It is a very quiet town, excellent if you are looking for something very restful. We were there in late September with the weather still chilly. Walking in the area is great as I had experiences with an echidna, potoroo and blue tongue lizard. Retirement by the sea. Very few young people. Standout IGA & General Store. Indifferent (and rude) staff at one high profile take away!! BUT WAIT - the place you must go to is the iconic Melshell Oyster Shack at nearby Dolphin Sands. Not fancy buildings, just genuine people concentrating on the perfect oysters. Didn’t see much of Swansea.
Didn’t see much of Swansea. Booked the place for Freycinet national park. It is about 45 min from the national park but there were a few interesting seafood place along the way. It’s a quiet little town and IGA closes at 6pm. There is an EV charger in town. I think it makes an ideal place to stopover if you want to relax visit the oyster farm and wineries around the area.Guest review byAnneAustralia - 8.0

Very easy to travel round, ate at the RSL couple nights, both very busy, good choice of food, good prices. It was off season and a few eating places were closed. Our cabin had views over the little nearby beach & Freycinet NP which were just spectacular. The kitchen was functional and had everything we needed and the cabin was extremely clean. There was a laundry for guest use for $4 and parking right outside each cabin. The staff were so lovely and helpful - they provided us with some great suggestions for what to see and printed out a 2 page document for me that I required urgently. The Motor Inn is fantastically located on the foreshore with uninterrupted views of the bay. The room was clean with great amenities. The staff were super helpful etc. and it's located opposite the IGA for any grocery needs.
