One of the most beautiful places in the world.

One of the most beautiful places in the world. The city is great, but you must take the ferry to Manly beach and to Watson's bay and Rose bay. It is the places nearby which are mesmerising, and don't forget to go to the Blue mountains – a must-visit.

For the best shopping, restaurants, pubs, cafes and bars all...

For the best shopping, restaurants, pubs, cafes and bars all in a 30-minute walk, stay in Paddington and/or Woollahra. Old-fashioned pubs (The Paddo Inn, The Village Inn, The Woollahra Hotel) or sushi, gourmet supermarkets or foodie bakeries - you can also take home outstanding Italian to cook in your Air BnB at Barbetta. Berkelouw Books in Paddington is a huge modern/secondhand book paradise with a cafe and at the Woollahra end of the 30-minute walk you'll find Jo Malone. If you want to go home with bags of great vintage shoes and a ton of photographs of wow-factor food (and good pub memories) this is where you stay in Sydney. Oh, and the Oxford Street 333 bus in Paddington takes you to Bondi Beach. For picnics, Centennial Park on the Paddington/Woollahra border is fantastic. Buy all the food in Woollahra and go.

We had high tea at the Queen Victoria building Tea Room and it was a wonderful experience. Weather stopped us doing a couple of experiences but we will return and hopefully do them next time. We only had to go a few steps to Chinatown so plenty of choices for meals. We went to the Capitol theatre to a musical and it was a very easy walk from the hotel.
