We’ve traveled yo many countries and have stayed at numerous gorgeous 5-star hotels, but we agree that Confraria was one of the most unique! My husband and so stayed in the bungalow/tree house. A very cool experience! Dining was superb. Val was our head waiter. Extremely accommodating (as everyone was) but in addition, he spoke perfect English which was so helpful for us since we stayed for 3 nights. We appreciated his professional services immensely. Every meal was excellent. Everything is homemade as this resort does not have a huge amount of guests. AMAZING HOMEMADE BREADS were a highlight. We were told that the resort handles about 60 max, and the food and service reflect the “small resort feel”, very personal. The walkways built above the trees are unique and have several alcoves in which to sit and relax. So stunning and a beautiful setting.

Breakfast was excellent and lots of choices. Sitting outside was lovely. Rooms were clean and very pleasant, though the firsts room assigned had a broken door lock and appeared more worn out than the room we were moved to. As a Booking.com customer - we don't like to see booking.com customers getting less nice rooms etc for using their discounts. Not Cool. But the hotel did switch our room after the broken lock incident and were perfectly nice about it.

It is set on an old building that has been renovated. Cleanliness is exceptional, and breakfast was very good. My room had some vintage wooden furniture that gave me the nostalgic feeling of being in my grandparent`s house. The staff was friendly. Unfortunately, I didn`t try its restaurant, as I was traveling for work and stayed only one night, and I went to visit a fine car museum close by and had dinner there.
