    We stayed in Itaipava, which is part of Petropolis and had a great time there. You can hike or go for walks just around our Chalet, or if you prefer, have great culinary experience with lots of options and do some shopping. It was raining for most part but this did not bother us at all since we really loved our Chalet at Vila Calp Itaipava and the entertainment at night in Itaipava. We enjoyed japanese food at Zai Sushi and had some great shopping at Mio, MeToo, and other stores at Parquinho Shopping Itaipava.

    Was a major highlight to our trip to Brazil.

    Was a major highlight to our trip to Brazil. First time to Brazil and we had been to Sao Paulo, Salvador and Rio already. Travel plans changed so we neede a place to stay for one more night in Rio. Instead of staying In Rio another night, we rented a car and went to Petropils for the day/night. So glad we did. We went to the Imperila house (get a guide for really great experience unless you already know a lot about Brazil history). We ate dinner at the house of 7 errors. it was fantastic and that's saying a lot because we're picky.

    Petropolis is located in the rain forest mountains on the outskirts of Rio, the one hour trip allows for beautiful views the city is very charming, among the places to visit are the Kings Palace, the Cathedral, Liberty Square, Crystal Ball Gazebo, Koeller Ave with the old mansions and the micro breweries. Most of the sites are at walking distance from each other.

    Very pleasant place to be - lots of historical sites/sights - excellent shops and restaurants. For those of us who like to take it slow and easy, the public benches (which were everywhere) were a delight! It's no surprise that the emperor chose to make this his summer home. By the way, even if the city had been a disappointment (which it wasn't), the landscapes on the way in would've made up for it - they were spectacular! Try to plan your trip so that you pass through those mountains in the late afternoon, when the light is just right.

    Petrópolis is a beautiful city.

    Petrópolis is a beautiful city. In my opinion, one day is enough to see the most important sights. In the church there was a really nice tour guide (also for German speaking people). You have to visit the „Bohemia“-brewery and also try a brownie with coffee at „Brownie do Ton“!

    We stayed at this beautiful hotel in Petropolis which exceeded my expectations. Its location was perfect. Although we had a car but did not need it for roaming around the city centre. There are a number of interesting places to see, but the city is such a place that you can spend several days just relaxing. We were there for two days. I would have been happy to relax there for 3 or even 4.

    We stayed there one night during our trip from Minas down to RJ. The Hotel is a nicely maintained historic building complex consisting of 2 historic villas plus a 60’s building. It is within walking distance to all the sights of Petrópolis - so location is perfect. We had one of the so-called “suite imperial” rooms which was on the first floor of the main building above the reception. The bed was comfortable with the right hardness, the shower worked well, good Breakfast. The hotel has private parking, which was a plus.

    Little hotel with a great, unique atmosphere. My room had big windows with a view on a small "garden" which could be illuminated. Very kind personel. Good breakfast. There was air condition in the room that could be also a heater. Big shower area. Design of the room soothens all the inconveniance.

    Great Service from the staff. The pool/leisure area was great and a nice bonus. Perfect breakfast, lots of options. Beautiful restaurant with some great beers. We liked the rustic style of the hotel area and bedroom.
