The host was so kind already with a warm welcome. The rooms, toilets, shower, everywhere was clean. I enjoyed a lot the old furnitures in the building; the building itself is almost 900 years old. Also, I was very lucky to have a room with a lake view that I could get up with an amazing view from the bed. They have amazing terrasse in multiple layers - highest layer with tables and chairs for dining having a big tree in the middle (breakfast there with the lake view was just great), then they had nice chill lounge couches with parasol looks like a perfect place for apéro, middle layer for chilling with green grass, and the lowest layer with direct access to the lake where you can chill with the sun beds and parasols. It was so amazing! It felt like a hidden gem that we found like serendipity. Mind that they can host a very limited number of guests, so if you find it available, please don't miss this lucky chance! I loved that place also because I could feel that the hosts were putting their heart into their hotel. I will definintely come back!

beautiful secluded area in the middle of Switzerland, that is 1 hour away from Zurich and 1 hour away from St. Gallen and Appenzel. in 10 min you are in Weesen at the shores of Weesensee (a beautiful and tranquil lake between two mountains (no wonder the area is call the fiord of Switzerland). it is a great area for hiking, watersports, and just relaxation.

A mountain farm village with wonderful Alpine views. Very family oriented offering skiing in Winter and hiking in Summer and Autumn. Many travel there from Zürich in winter to escape the gray and find the sun. Slopes there are perfect for beginners and the Ski School is very good and uncomplicated

There are great medium and easy slopes and tons of dining options for the small area. The walk around the lake was beautiful, we loved our stay at Hotel Sonne, and the ski rental was very easy. We had delicious Thai food in Weesen and great drinks on the mountain.

As a village Amden itself does not have a center where there...

As a village Amden itself does not have a center where there are usually shops, restaurants. The main street leads to the lake or further up to the mountains. There are though many hiking paths and ski slopes nearby.

I love Amden!

I love Amden! I pretty much go there many weekends since it's so close to Zürich and easy to get to. There's tons to do here - hiking trails such as Leistchamm / Mattstock, awesome restaurants such as Holzstübli with their yummy chäshörnli, lovely locals, etc. Tons of scenic Swiss countryside and moo moo cows everywhere.

This apartment is a real gem. We didn’t expect it to be this great! Super clean, very comfortable, and you could find here everything you could possibly need, even binoculars which was surprising and lovely! But most importantly - THE VIEW!!!!! that was literally insane. It is definitely the best apartment for views in Amden, you get the whole scenery. And also, Swiss people are so nice and helpful, we loved our vacation in this country. We will visit this place next year as well and for sure choose this apartment again. 100/100 ❤️

Very nice and clean apartment with two big rooms/bed rooms and one small bed room, contains all what one need for staying there. Also the kitchen is well equipped. But what is extraordinary is a view from a balcony. We spent all our evenings there with a bottle of wine and enjoed it... It is situated very close to the center of Amden.

Lovely setting, beautiful countryside and views of mountains. Many great walks close by. Very lovely chalet, we had four but could easily have six. Very cosy. Also, close to supermarkets (in Amden and Wassen) Even Zurich and the Lindt factory are within a 40-50 minute drive.
