The location facing the length lake Brienz was amazing. The view of the lake was surrounded by only mountains. Unlike other lake front properties, one doesn't look across the lake to the opposite shore, but instead the view along the long axis of the lake is unspoiled by anything. It is located in a suburb of Interlaken called Bonigen. The jetty for the lake cruises is just a few steps away and the Bonigen See bus stop is across the road, which makes it very easy to go into town center with the free bus pass. The hosts made us feel welcome and helped us with anything we needed. We had booked a garden room but we're upgraded to a lake view room with a balcony where one could sit and watch the lake all day long.

The food and drinks provided in the room were beyond exceptional! We did not even utilize the free breakfast, because there was so much food in the room when we arrived! The view was to die for, and Christine and Petra went above and beyond for us. I 100% recommend this hotel for anyone staying in the Interlaken area!

Our room was in the attic with a forest view from the bedroom and a town view from our little deck, which was lovely. The staff were very friendly. The spa and sauna was very special too.The breakfast was magnificent. The shuttle collected us from the train, which was handy as the hotel is at the top of town.

This was a really lovely inn in a beautiful spot. There are views of the alps from all around. It's an easy few stops on the bus from Interlaken Ost, with a bus stop pretty close to the inn. The food and staff were just wonderful. The restaurant serves fantastic regional dishes that were very high quality.

Bönigen is lovely as it’s quiet and peaceful but it’s very easy to get to Interlaken centre to do day trips in the area. There is plenty to do also right in Bonigen there are lots of water activities and trails. It’s beautiful the lake is stunning. We did not have a car this house is fully accessible by public transport and food can be bought in the local shops or the big supermarket in Interlaken Ost the station you will pass through when you make any trips outside Bonigen.

Location is absolutely picturesque with Lake Brienz just...

Location is absolutely picturesque with Lake Brienz just across the road. Lovely to take an evening walk or have a picnic by the lake. We just felt so relaxed. All stress just melts away. A short bus ride from the train station and can get a bit crowded due to the popularity of the area and the frequency of the bus. So leave early for any sightseeing at Interlaken and check the SBB mobile app for the bus timings. Advice - Leave early in the morning if you are going to Jungfraujoch from Interlaken, in summer.

A dream like place, lacks the hustle and bustle of city life...

A dream like place, lacks the hustle and bustle of city life...yet close to the main train station Interlaken ost...a few minutes by 103 bus..the bus stop was few metres walking distance from the property Boningen beside Lake Brienz is such a serene place .. people who enjoy nature..can spend a couple of days here and get rejuvenated..a quiet reading by the lake..ya a quick swim..ya a simply coffee by the lakeside bench... Boningen makes your wishlist come true

A good place to base ourselves for a short stay.

A good place to base ourselves for a short stay. We walked along Wanderweg paths following the river into Interlaken. A very pleasant walk 👍 Would be a good base for exploring the Brienz Interlaken Grindelwald area by motorcycle, or car, or local buses and trains.

Stay facing the lake, Boningen is well connected to...

Stay facing the lake, Boningen is well connected to Interlaken and an ideal place to stay for the best views. It also allows elderly people to stay as they dont have to climb steep roads that you would see in Murren or Grindelwald or Wengen.

It was so clean and feels like home.

It was so clean and feels like home. We cooked dinner and breakfast with ease. Complete with coffee pods and basic condiments. Recommended for you next travel. We really enjoyed our stay. We went winter and bus run every hour. No problem for us as we only need to take that bus once. You can opt to wlk for 22 mins to interlaken ost. The bathroom has no lock again no problem for us as we are family. We just knock before entering. Maybe the only problem we had was throwing rubbish away. Quite confusing where to put it

The view is absolutely stunning—the hotel faces Lake Brienz, and our room had a balcony overlooking the lake. It was the perfect spot to relax and take in the breathtaking scenery. I’ve shared a photo of the view from our balcony for reference. Another plus is that the hotel offers parking at just 5 Swiss francs per day, which is very convenient.

The bus station is just outside the hotel, include breakfast! It’s clean and with elevator. The room is big, the lake view is very nice from the hotel! Include a guest card which we can use it for free transport!

We loved this hotel with beautiful lake views and wonderful people. Great breakfast and so glad we stayed here rather than Interlaken as the trip into town was disappointing. A fantastic base to explore the alps.
