Poschiavo is tranquil and serene place. Small town but big enough to walk if you want a calm quiet moment. I found this place is a bit cheaper to eat in the restaurant than in places like zermatt. The borge (town centre) is very beautiful (and quiet, as it is almost car-free). Many interesting sights, small workshops, museums, cultural and architectural things to see and explore. Friendly people. Once you have seen it all, start exploring the whole of the valley that offers everything from the Bernina Hospizio down to Tirano in Valtalina vallley. Lots of interesting architecture, pretty villas and palazzos. Museums not open in the winter which is a shame. Great to use as stop-over on the Bernina train line. Poschiavo in February was quiet and beautiful. Coming in and out on the train with a view of the lake and the whole valley was an incredible experience. It was lovely to stroll through the town at night and in the sun and get a true feel for the culture in the region in the midst of incredible natural beauty. The hotel is full of charm, blending historic character with tasteful modern touches. Our room was spotless, comfortable, and quiet, featuring a spacious and relaxing bathroom. As vegans, we appreciated the extra effort the hosts made to provide us with suitable breakfast options. Had a Delicious Pizza for dinner with a drink in the restaurant, which is quite elegant. If you are coming from the centre of Switzerland during the winter, make sure to bring snow chains or drive a 4x4, because this hotel is over the Berninapass.
