We were in Valparaiso for three nights, and we could have...
We were in Valparaiso for three nights, and we could have spent more time looking over the city. We took a trip around the area in the rental car, and with more time, we could have revisited some of the interesting places we drove through. There is a lot to see along the coast. We found good coffee and tasty food being served at Tallers Cafe, and could have made it our local. Valparaiso is bohemian in a rough way, great to stroll around Cerro Alegre and concepcion for a couple of days. A constant smell of human urine and dog shit. ( not so bad in the 2 Cerros mentioned but the rest ....;(.....the lower part of the city is an example when a city is left to decay. They made up for the fact that there are no elevators and many stairs and helped to carry our heavy luggage. They did everything with a smile and gave us amazing recommendations for lunch and dinner. The hotel is well located and close to excellent restaurants. The breakfast was good as well...they provided gluten free options which has been a rarity in my experience in Chile.
