I stayed at this hotel with three friends in Zhangjiajie and had an amazing experience. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by our host, Winnie, who was very enthusiastic and helpful throughout our stay. The check-in process was smooth, and our rooms were luxurious, spacious, comfortable, and well-maintained. The hotel’s service was top-notch, especially thanks to Winnie. She provided excellent advice on things to do in the area and helped us plan our days in a way that made everything run smoothly. Whenever we had questions, she was quick to assist. The hotel also offers a great swimming pool and a restaurant with tasty local food. The location was perfect—just a short ride to the National Park entrance. Every morning, we were taken to the park by golf cart, and Winnie also helped arrange taxis when we needed to go elsewhere or needed airport transport. All in all, it was a very enjoyable stay, and I’d definitely recommend this hotel if you’re visiting Zhangjiajie.

Awesome experience! Room was looking like at photos. Clean, comfy, fancy. Stuff is friendly and nice. we had a free transfer from and to airport. Also it has washing machines in common area, after hike we were really need it :) The hotel is a 10-15 minute walk from the southern entrance to the park. On the way back, be careful when choosing a shuttle (we made mistake and going to another entry) but at second time ask driver to explain which shuttle we needed.

Excellent location with a short walk to Zhangjiajie National Park. The nearby village is charming to watch sunrise and sunset. Clean and tranquil environment. Guesthouse beds come with mattresses equipped with heaters for the cold weather. Anthony, the host, not only speaks immaculate English but is also very knowledgeable about the place. He's incredibly nice and helpful in purchasing our national park tickets, planned our itineraries, arranged all our transportation, cooked breakfast and dinner for us, and ensuring everything went smoothly. We really enjoyed our stay at Mountainside Guesthouse and highly recommend it for your visit. That was our first trip to China, and our family had a wonderful and memorable time in Zhangjiajie.

We had SUCH AN AMAZING TIME! The amenities are exactly as they're shown in the pictures AND MORE! The hotel itself is worth exploring (almost like a resort) so definitely book yourself an extra night to relax and enjoy the facilities if possible. The staff arranged all pick-ups and drop-offs for arriving/leaving and all the sights nearby, it's like you have a private driver! I suggest you also eat at the restaurant there, it's fresher and you can pre-order so it's ready when you get back from the day's activities. You will probably notice the amount of tea "things" in the hotel. The owner also runs a tea business and one of the staff there is a tea barista (her name is Mao Mao, super helpful and nice) so definitely spend some time to try out and learn about the different Chinese teas, you are in China after all.

Great location! The staff were very helpful - guiding us on how to get around, recommending excellent places to eat, and even helping us adjust our itinerary so we could make the most of our time. Mary was an amazing host . Accommodation top notch , food fabulous and owner was helpful beyond belief. We had one and a half days in the park and managed to get to see the so much thank to the itinerary and support provided by our host Mary. She even realised we were running late for our train getting through through the park she suggested getting our driver she had booked for us to meet us at the exit point of the park. She goes beyond what you would expected of a host and we are so fortunate to have booked her homestay . We plan to come back 🙏

    Beautiful place to visit for adventurous trekkers and hikers. GEt close to nature and fresh mountain air. Views at special spots are fantastic. I stayed for a week as we need time to rest after the long hikes. Give allowance for thick mist in the highlands and rainy days where views are not clear and visibility is poor. Visit lowland areas (10 mile gallery and golden whip stream) when highlands are misty. Try to avoid the golden week though there are additional buses and staff to help out. During this period, entering through west gate is helpful as human traffic is lesser.

    Beautiful national park to explore and less touristy town full of interesting cuisine and local attractions , not too crowded but lively in the evenings, mountains and glass walk ways amazing , some beautiful under rated ancient Buddha Temples at the top of Tianmin mountain we enjoyed more than Beijing

    Stunning!

    Stunning! our 2nd favorite natural attraction in China, 2nd only to Huangshan Mountain. lots of great trails with exceptional views of a singular landscape. we stayed inside the park at YOLO hotel, which made access very easy. fortunately, transportation inside the park is shuttle bus only, they run frequently, and there's no congestion from private autos like you get at Yosemite. there's a big focus on "Avatar", but that is only one pillar of hundreds. Zhangjiajie is like Arizona's Grand Canyon except in a temperate rain forest, and on a more intimate scale, plus there are no incessant helicopters or mule feces.

    Amazing place.

    Amazing place. My focus was in the nature and zhangjiajie definitely delivered. Everything went super smoothly, but couple didi drivers tried to scam more money by adding extra fees in the app. Luckily didi customer service was good and got it fixed. Besides that small thing everything else was 10/10 for me, i strongly recommend visiting.

    We arrived Monday evening, explored all day Tuesday, then left Wednesday morning. I would have loved more time but felt like we saw a lot in the time we had. Tuesday morning we went to Zhangjiajie National Forest through the east gate. We went straight to the Bailong elevator, hiked around, then took the bus to Yangjiajie and hiked around a little more. We then took multiple bus rides and took the cable car back to the east gate. A driver picked us up and took us to Zhangjiajie city where we bought tickets for Tianmen Shan, B route (one thing to note is that route B and C have you climb the 999 stairs up, route A has you go down the 999 stairs). It was all so beautiful! Wednesday morning we went to the south gate of Zhangjiajie National Forest and did a quick but gorgeous and peaceful hike, hoping to see monkeys, which we did. I loved our trip but would have loved two or three days to explore the area more extensively.

    Zhangjiajie was on my bucket list and I have ticked it off...

    Zhangjiajie was on my bucket list and I have ticked it off now. I was not disappointed with my trip there. The views was amazing and once in a life time for me. There was alot of walking not for the faint hearted.

    It was located on a street with many food options and reflexology services, which you will need after a long day of walking. The owners were friendly and helpful and got the park tickets for us and arranged transport to the Grand Canyon and back. The property is walking distance to the National park’s east entrance. They also arranged for our luggage to be transferred to our hotel in Zhangjiajie town for a fee.

    Hôtel very well located to go to the National Park. Room very cosy with a nice view, balcony and outside bath. Most of all, staff was incredible ! They are very helpful, arrange you to find tickets at the very last moment (I was not enough organized) and thanks to them I Will enjoy each activity of zhangjiajie. I highly recommend, and again, thank you for your kindness and your help !

    Really nice staff (especially Zhong Hongmei). Family hotel with nice and wram atmosphere. We got help for everything. They arranged for Tianmen and Zhangjiajie national forest park tickets, transport and lots of advices. You There was wash machine and dryer at the hotel. Comfortable beds.

    A beautiful hotel with an excellent location. The manager is really helpful and friendly and perfect guide for the area around the hotel. The room was very well furnished and spacious. The breakfast is beyond. The dog Popeye is so cute. Zhangjiajie national park is a must see.
