However, the only negative to say is that many roads are not paved, which is due to the government's and private conflicts, for such a tourist area is a shame to see that. Guatape is beautiful and the food is 10/10. It’s the complete opposite of the city though so it depends on what vibe you are looking for. I definitely would recommend staying at the Brown’s if you are spending a night or two in Guatape. Being able to have food in the room if you prefer is nice and we loved having the bonfire on the terrace each night. The communication with staff re everything incl. meal orders etc via WhatsApp mostly worked well. We enjoyed the paddle boards and kayaks and also booked jetskis and paragliding through the hotel.
