Tolú is a small beach town not far away from Cartagena, so...
Tolú is a small beach town not far away from Cartagena, so it's easy to get there. You can also get there by plane. They have access to the single most spectacular island beaches I've ever seen and enjoyed. Its boulevard has nice restaurants and bars and places to sit and enjoy the beach, sea and the sunset. The gastronomy is a total delight. You can walk the beaches, boulevard, town center, and the town itself. It's safe and not excessively touristy, so no overcrowded beaches and places, no harassing or annoying vendors or situations like in Cartagena. The party bikes pumping loud champeta music are funny to see or hop on. Use the bike cabs to get to the bus station. Because it's a small town, there aren't that many things to do so be sure to visit the archipelago and mangroves which are all nearby.
